For steroids, there is a 50 game suspension. For gambling, there is a lifetime ban. Does the penatly fit the crime??

Both are very serious, but I will go with steroids as worse. Pete Rose bet on baseball, but not against his own team or anything like that. Meanwhile, some of baseball's most hallowed records are being wiped away by downright CHEATS!!! I am still waiting for baseball to crack down on steroids; it hasn't happened yet.

GAMBLING, GAMBLING, GAMBLING!!!!

As much as I hate Steroids being in the game, and the guys who've used them, gambling is still worse.

With steroids we are slowly finding that every team has had their share of users. So over the last X number of years steroids has played a role this team still beat that team.

With gambling, you put the legitimacy of the outcome of games in question. That you can't have, because then what's the point of watching.

The punishments do fit the crimes here. I'm okay with giving steroid users a couple of chances to get their **** together. But gambling is intolerable. There is way too much money being made by players to tolerate gambling.

No, the punishment is too severe for Pete Rose, he never bet on the Reds to lose.

As for steroids, they have cheapened all the modern records, so now that there are several distinct periods in baseball history (ie, dead ball era, the war years, post expansion and finally the steroid era) Steroids have ruined careers of younger players, and to a smaller extent "lessened" the morals of today's younger fans...

Islam itself isn't horrible. Sure the Quran contains questionable things, but so does the Bible. It's Muslim ruled countries who have to abide by Islam on a federal level I tend to shy away from. There are awesome Muslims and there are some pretty terrible ones. I'm all for you loving your religion if you leave out the extremism. I personally would never follow Islam, I wouldn't marry a Muslim, I would never produce a child with one (only for the fact I refuse my child have it forced upon them.) I would have Muslim friends and I did before I moved, but now I have none in my life as they live in a different state. Liberal Muslims don't bother me a bit. But the ones that patrol neighborhoods in England verbally abusive women for how they dress is not ok... Them trying to patrol the streets trying to take alcohol from others is also not ok. Those types need sent back to their Islamic country or respect the country your in, no matter what it allows. Way too many think they own the world.

I find it ironic that some atheletes choose to experiment with their body to increase their performance and others bet on the game in hopes players won't be playing at their potential. As far as the penalties fitting the crime, did you ever hear the team owners complaining about butts filling the seats. Who should really be penalized, the player making poor decisions or the owners accepting the tickets at the gate? It's been going on for decades, now you want to change it! It is what it is.....

Gambling. Steroids may help a player hit a ball further, but that can only influence a game every once in a while. if you gamble/fix a game that can affect every game

They both need to carry a lifetime ban. The penalties for steroids are still way too soft.

I think the ban that Pete Rose got was unfair. It's far worse to use steroids than it is to bet on a game. Just my opinion though,.

Steroids is plain out CHEATING. Gambling isn't cheating unless you are throwing a game or something. Taking a drug to make you hit more home runs is absolutely rediculous.

unreasonable.
My biggest problem with the steroid issue is they keep adding to the list and it's supposedly up to the players to know all about it.
What about their team Dr's.?The medical people who are handing it out to these players. They should be held legally responsible as well!
I find it hard to believe a simple cream of any kind is going to bulk up a player like GIambi or Conseco or the Giants loser Bonds.
It's a shame the cloud hanging over baseball keeps getting worse but I do say if they aren't shooting up-who cares?

Gambling-who cares as long as you aren't betting against your own team?
