I'm portuguese and I am happy that Portugal go through to the semi-finals, but I cannot help feeling sad for our oldest allies. England should be proud, for they played really well and finally showed what they are worth. Well done, England! As for Rooney, he's an excellent player with a hot temper which time will help to cool off.

Nice to hear this - I am very proud of the way the team performed - with just ten men on the park, we looked much the better team - Portugal looked like the team with only ten men - you will need to improve a lot to win the cup, but guess you have some good players returning from suspension.

Just seen your other questions and your insulting response to a fellow poster, so I can see now that you do not mean a word of what you say above - in fact, much of what you ask in your previous questions is insulting (calling England people drunken in-breds for example) - you must feel really big and brave hiding behind your computer insulting people - you should take the blinkers of mate and see the real world - Portugal did not play well, and have been involved in some rather unsavory incidents during this competition.

i'm portuguese too, and i hate it when a game is settled on PK. england did very well, and so did portugal, and in a situation like that, however the PK turns out, it is never fair. as for rooney, all i can say is, it's one thing to swipe a passing leg, but he could have done some irreparable damage by going for that particular area. he deserved everything he got, and i hope his team mates give him a good ear full over it. he may very well have cost england the game.

It's always bad when two great teams meet so early on the competition cause one of them has to leave and it's even worse when that happens with penalty shoot-outs cause that's not real football it's all about luck and psychology...I feel really bad for England cause they really played a great game, Portugal was just luckier...none of the two teams deserved to lose :(
But you know what really gets on my nerves - France! So I hope Portugal kick their *** next week and the Germans too :)
Go Portugal go:)

yeah, England was GREAT as usual, they deserved to WIN like they always do, their fans are the BEST as we all know and their manager DOESN'T look like a little red rooster :-)
Owen played brilliantly so did Rooney and Beckam of course.
Kicking a ball to hit the target is VERY difficult so they shouldn't be ashamed, they are misunderstood heroes. God Save The Queen.
amen

Thank's so much for the compliment. Really lightens the blow when a Portugese congratulates us. It's just a shame we are s**t at penalties!!! Rooney's only young, of course he's got a temper!

I hope the Portugese are extremely proud of their dishonest, unsportmen-like players. They obviously wanted it more because they were willing to cheat their way to victory.
Hope Rooney headbutts Ronaldo when they get back to the training ground!

How can u say this to every other neutral fans. England didn't show any things to prove that they can win. They played so boring during their 4 games in WC. So it's time for them to see WC on TV....I sure

Rooney shouldnt have been so immature.
