Hey hey hey....you did not see the symbol on my question. It's less than and greater than. So it means, the answer should also have a sign of less than and greater than.

1. implies 3x-2 > 10 or 3x-2 <-10
3x > 12 or 3x < -12
x> 4 or x < -4
so the set of solutions is (-infinity, - 4) U ( 4, infinity)
2. implies 2x - 3 > -5 or 2x -3 < 5
2x > -2 or 2x < 8
x > -1 or x <4
The set of solutions is
(-1, 4)

1.
3x - 2 > 10
3x > 12
x > 4

2.
2x - 3 < 5
2x < 8
x < 4

This is one part of the solution. I will update later.

1.)
|3x - 2| > 10
same as saying
±(3x - 2) > 10
divide both sides by ±1
3x - 2 > 10 or 3x - 2 < -10
add 2 to both sides
3x > 12 or 3x < -8
divide both sides by 3
ANS : x > 4 or x < (-8/3)

-----------------------------------------

2.)
|2x - 3| < 5
2x - 3 < 5 or 2x - 3 > -5
2x < 8 or 2x > -2
x < 4 and x > -1
ANS : -1 < x < 4

you make both equations into two equations each

3x-2 = 10 and -3x+2 = 10
then solve for x
3x=12
x= 4

-3x = 8
x=-8/3

for #2,
2x-3=5
2x=8
x=4

and
-2x+3 = 5
-2x=2
x=-1

there you go
