My favorite sleeping position was ALWAYS sleeping on my belly. lol always got me to sleep pretty quick. But now I am 24 weeks pregnant..And I try sleeping on my left side as much as I can..But it always gets very uncomfortable, and I always seem to wake up on my back anyways. I also layed on my back for a while and still can because my belly is not as big yet,but I am a paranoid person I will admit, and I feel like that is going to hurt the baby..Is sleeeping on your back on in the six months of being pregnant? And does anyone know where you can buy the body pillows that women usually use during pregnancy..? I looked at wal mart and k mart and can't seem to find anything..?

JC Penny's has the body pillows. Otherwise try Stein Mart/TJ Maxx.

I'm currently pregnant with twins, so sleeping on my side is out of the question! I've always slept on my belly too - it's hard to get comfortable.
Sleeping on your back isn't necessarily bad for the baby, it's just more uncomfortable to you. Baby will put stress on your spine, and can cause pressure on a nerve - making you feel dizzy.

I use ALOT of pillows. I sleep closer to on my back, but propped up more. I sleep on my side, but not directly. More towards laying down, this helps with pillows. I have found that many pillows, and a man, is easier to sleep with than one big body pillow. I'm also one that tosses & turns during the night, and I'm afraid that I'll wake up in a position that I'll regret later.

I have used the body pillows in the past - the kids liked them more - they would all lay their heads on the pillow, and watch a movie.

As the weeks go on it'll just get more uncomfortable...just sleep in the most comfortable position you can find. Moving often. :P And sleeping on your back is fine for your baby but will squish you pretty good soon enough. You could try Babys R Us for the pillow, but I think online would be your surest bet to find it. I think the last half of pregnancy is meant to prepare you for the lack of sleep you're going to get by not letting you get comfortable enough to really have a good night's sleep. :P

I read recently that sleeping on your left side is good during pgcy because it helps to drain fluid. I am a tummy sleeper too and during my pgcys I would lay half on my left side and half on my tummy with my right leg bent, a pillow under it,and under the belly. Couldn't wait to go back to sleeping on my tummy.

They say sleeping on your left side, and on your back are harmful to the baby. I too was a tummy sleeper, and it was hard to change during both my pregnancies. I would have my hubby put a pillow at my back (body pillow) to keep me from rolling on my back, and I slept on my right side.

I was about 2 weeks overdue with my 2nd child and towards the end I slept in a recliner. It was the only way I could stay asleep for more than half an hour or so. Good Luck and Congrats!

Not on your back!!! But for sure on your side, your baby will love the comfort. there is no other way. I had to get use to it too because I loved sleeping on my belly.
