If you feel I have wronged you then by all means I apologise.

I think you will find that just as many English people feel just as let down by life as you do, and we blame our politicians too.

Where we differ is we don't feel victimised just because of our nationality. (unless there's an Argentinian Referee involved)

Not to be totally confrontational here, but the English haven't done anything to you, the Scots in quite a few generations. You yourself certainly have not suffered at the hands of English soldiers and no living English soldier, member of Parliament or any other Englishmen has ever lawfully harmed a Scot, taken his lands or threatened his livelihood. It's over, man. Let it go. Do not seek to define Scottish identity against a backdrop of misery and woe. The English act innocent because the English of modern times are innocent -- just as the Scots of modern times are independent, strong, able, so don't whine and mew about things you've never yourself known. Makes you sound like a bloody Irishman sobbing into his beer and hating America cause he's got a little *** and our women are prettier than his.

Had the film braveheart not have been made i fear you may not give a damn. I wish irsih and scottish people would stop trying to define their identity on the misery and oppression from the english which just deosn't exist anymore. Why can't we all unite? Scotland is strong, as is Ireland and wales. To be honest England is probbaly the weakest, but we are doing ok, albeit with the lack of an English parliament and represenatation.

I would love to see a united British isles including ireland, but you so called 'celts' seem not to want any of it, afraid of losing your independence? What anout english independence? we can all be independent whilst working together. Maybe the monarchy is the reason why the scots and irish hate us, yes that most be part of the reason.

I am innocent, I have done a lot for scots. I have worked in customer service roles for many years and have helped no end of scots. Why can I not be innocent?

Get a life and stop hating for the sake of it, it's people like you who propagate stereotypes.

Don't be so ignorant. You're not the only nation in this world who have been disadvantaged by another nation. The English done a lot to us South Africans as well and we in turn did a lot to the black people. There very few nations in this world who are completely innocent, yet they act that way. Just get over it, you shite-head

oh yeah and you scots are totally innocent yeah right. and as for acting innocent what are you talking about i couldnt care less what my english ancestry did to yours because its their problems or guilt or whatever not ours. oh and by the way did you know that haggis originally came from down south and was basically a big fat sausage and when the english ended up in scotland over the years it became a cheap favourite dish of the hardworking scots.

Always wondered if anyone else out there felt growly about how the English worked over us Scots.
My clan was nearly wiped out, sold out, and shipped right out of our beautiful Scotland.

Five generations later, and my Grams still curses those damnable richies.

'Course I suppose we shouldn't blame the English of today.
Think it's kinda like this Japanese girl I knew once. She had asked me why America had attacked Japan, starting WWII. Apparently, in her schools, they were taught that Pearl Harbor was just another battle of a war.

So, maybe the English of today don't know, thus don't understand what it's like to be under the rule of an occupying force. After all, they have occupied our poor Scotland for how long?

I am English and the first thing I do after I wake up is to beat myself with a rusty chain and remind myself how wrong I was ever to happen to be born in the wrong country. Thank you for that profound and beautifully grammatical reminder. I will give myself an extra beating to open up the sores just before laying down on my itchy blankets tonight.

Yes we do a lot for the Scots. We give you lots of money for a start. We also give you a disproportionately high representation at Westminster. And we put up with your whinging.
