spouse can be either husband or wife, hubby is for husband like "my hubby is asleep right now so i'm on the computer" or my husband could say "my spouse is on the computer, she spends all day on there!"

They use to mean the same thing back when people actually committed to a life union. these days a hubby is pretty much that, ones husband. A spouse has been reduced to one you lease for a time, years etc. But you never marry. Like the difference between owning a vehicle and leasing a vehicle. You get to use both, but the one you lease you know you will turn in to upgrade at some future time.

hubby and spouse mean the same thing. The only difference is that hubby refers specifically to the male whereas spouse can be either the wife or the husband.

It is just a slang reference to the male you are with. Spouse is kinda formal like on an application. A hubby is casual for the male other in reference to the female set.

when you say Hubby you are reffering the male specifically. the term spouse is a general term .in the sense when you say spouse to a married woman, it means her husband and when you say spouse to a married man, it means his wife. so the term spouse is a general term. it gets different meaning depending on the person to whom you are talking to.
