A person can fall in love as many times as it happens. I have fallen in love with every partner I have had through my life. When I fall in love each time it feels like it is the first time. The reason for this for me is that each time is the first time. When I meet a woman and there is that spark and chemical reaction I fall in love with them. This doesnt detract from how much love I felt for my previous partner but I accept that that relationship is over and moving forward is what needs to be done. I still have many many fond memories of all my previous partners and relationships but the past is the past, it is done and gone so I do not hold onto it. My opinion is that people who think you only fall in love once will be dragging unnecessary emotional baggage around that will create problems in future relationships . When loves goes wrong and you feel like the world is going to end, pick yourself up and get on with moving forward, you lived life before you fell in love and you will survive when it is lost.

"Falling in love" is as easy as stepping off a curb on the side of a street (it used by "falling off a log" but I updated the expression for city types). Some people seem to do it literally 100 times a day. We are all in love from time to time. But to love someone with that kind of abiding love that doesn't change, and that we know both in our hearts and with our minds is truly love, that is not so easy to have. But, yes, even that kind of deep love can come more than once in a lifetime. Many older people who have lost a spouse have found it again and remarried. Many who have lost husbands in Afghanistan and Iraq, or at the World Trade Center or the Pentagon, have found it again. If they say youth is eternal, it is probably love that makes it so. Yes, you can love again. Or you can just be in love over and over and over, never getting over the emotional high of being in love. Which would you want?

Oh wow! I have the answer to this!! I fell in love with my future husband we got married and we both were working a lot; we both had kids from previous marriage. I thought we were ok, stressed out but ok.. things went kind of bad and we got divorced. But we were miserable apart, and now after a year we've started "dating" again and we appreciate each other so much more, so while we fell in love first and it was the fun/lusty/love, now it's the I know you better than anyone and still want to be with you love...

Definitely. In fact it starts from the day you are born. It just varies in depth or how much you love the person.

Of course you can, you just have to be more cautious this time to make sure you do things right and right the things that went wrong last time.
