Is it because perfection only exists in our imagination, or is it because we have not realized we already reached it?

Because everyone's idea of perfect is different and changes with time.

Some philosophical theory says that our world, with the current state of things, is the best we could have possibly reached. Well, if it is the best, how come so many people wish to change it?
It is just a way to explain what I understand under perfection: a perfect balance between what is absolutely perfect and imperfect, a balance between the good and the bad, between happiness and sorrow, between imagining and really seeing.
Will we ever reach such a perfect balance? Probably not...because the balance itself would also need to be unbalanced.
Does something like this exist only in our imagination? Who the hell cares, everything what we can imagine eventually becomes real, so it does not really matter. Would we go by perfection, not realizing it is there? Probably we would, but that´s only because humans have the innate wish to make perfection more perfect...

To define perfection we need a perfect example. The day we know the existence of perfect person we too shall be able to achieve that/ the perfection. Presently we just discuss relative perfections of humans.

because we don't know what it takes to be considered perfect

Perfection is relative

we say that something or someone is perfect when it "satisfies" what we think is perfect. In other words, we somehow dictate certain characteristics or traits that when completely satisfied, could be considered as perfect.

there could possibly be a perfect man or woman depending on how perfection is perceived.

It's just that we say noone is perfect because we don't perceive what characteristics or traits are needed to satisfy this perfection. We can't grasp which traits or qualities a perfect person should or should not have.

To err is human. We must constantly strive to do our best, but no matter how good we are there will always be someone better that will come along. Besides if we were ever to reach perfection what would then be left to strive for? All earthly things are imperfect, if there is such as perfection, then surely it is only our GOD.

I think we can never reach perfection for 2 reasons :

1- Our capabilities are limited.

2- We are living in changeable world, so you can't set standards for perfection, but close to it.

Thank you for this good question.

No it is not imagination.. we are all advancing towards perfection but certainly not in linear direction...it is with up-down, back-forward left-right

some who reach perfection merge in the Perfect like water drop merges in ocean...so they cant come back and tell

We can never reach perfection because then we would have nothing for which to strive. Another thought... Who is defining perfection? Your perfection may not be mine.

True perfection only exists in true union with God. The last perfect man was nailed to a tree. But this I mean a wooden cross that his heavenly father created. A true prophet of God is always hated, because he speaks the truth. People will listen to your lies all day long, but please don't confuse them with the truth. Thus Hollywood will always make big bucks while the world is starving for rice.

The latter, my friend. Human beings are processes. We are here for no particular reason at all. It's all just entertainment. What you want to do is focus on your perfection, which is Being. Becoming is what people usually focus on....but Becoming is just the emanation of Being. Being is the witness to the Becoming. Becoming is the movie. You are the actor, director, and producer of your movie.
