Well, we can expect that from the tabliod media lot - they will write anything for money the two-faced bastards.
Yes - Rooney was childish and pathetic....but I took an instant dislike to Ronaldo the moment I first saw him play - there's something really unpleasant about that boy.

Typical man U fan, thinks he lives in the republic of Manchester! (or London as it is usually spelt). Of course we can blame Ronaldo. We have the benefit of seeing him do that sort of thing in Prem every week. Players rushing up to ref and demanding cards of either colour is the most ugly part of the modern game and Ronaldo does it all the time. Couple this with his diving and smug sledging (cases in point - headbutting Rooney before kick-off last night, winking at his bench, remonstrating with Crouch during the game) and you've got a player that I, and many people the world over, would actually rather not see play. I would trade all his skill and step-over tricks etc. for just 90 minutes from him without him moaning, feigning injury, thinking he can endear himself to a ref or another player with a cheeky smile or a wink. His record for cheating in his career will be as bad as Maradonna's but the difference is Maradonna was one of the best players ever to walk on to a pitch, Ronaldo never will be.
Lets look at it from a Man U point of view. Who supported Ronaldo when his dad died - Ronney. Who supported him during the whole Ruud thing - Rooney. These guys are supposed to be mates or at the very least colleagues. if I was playing and my mate got involved in a situation that had nothing to do with him and he tried to get me sent off I would probably want to give a bit of shove just like Rooney did. And further down the line, it would potentially destroy any proffesional/working relationship. Now thurn the tables. My friend commits a foul of a dubious nature. What do i do? Rush the ref? No. I would honestly stay out of it and hope the ref makes the right decision. I would like to think that I would do this even if I had never met the player in question.
So to conclude. Even if you think that Rooney was justified in being sent off, which he might well have been, Ronaldo's behaviour (especially in light of what Rooney has done for Ronaldo in his personal and professional life) was dispicable, even more so if, as it appears, it seems to have been a premeditate pre-match tactic. For the sake of the England team, English football, Rooney and the team-spirit of the republic of Manchester I hope the smug little brat is sold on (preferably to som non-league outfit in Siberia).

I deplore the way that it (more often than not) it is the European mentality to get all emotional and involved. He should have stayed
where he was. He has no business interfering. In my mind, although Rooney deserved a caution, the ref was put under more more pressure by cissy ronaldo crying in his face.
Did you also see th little headbutt he gave rooney b4 the match..?
That was the sign of a player who knows he wouldnt be returning to Man U. Otherwise ROoney would flatten him.
As far as Im concerned he´s no good for our game. Let him move to Spain (real madrid) and they can all be emotional together.

Well I think C. Ronaldo has nothing to do with Rooney sent off. A player cannot change the decision of a ref. Sometimes they do appeal but it rarely change the mind of a ref. So if you think C. Ronaldo influence the ref to sent Rooney off, then all of you should blame the ref. coz his decisions shouldn't be based on the player argument. About the wink, why did all people link that to Rooney sent off I bet it comes from the media right???

its ronaldo by the way. and if u look at te video evidence and know the facts ronaldo was to blame. before the game he told rooney "I'm gonna get you sent off", and when he did he winked at his manager... Cheating has been going on again as it has been all through this world cup. Ronaldo has now asked for a transfer he wants out of man utd. I wonder why????????
CHEAT........but this also doesnt hide the fact that rooney was a idiot reacting like he did and risin to the challenge he will never learn. They both will learn the hard way....

Hmm, did you see Renaldo headbutt Rooney before the game and whisper something in his ear. Obviously, something was going on there even before the match began. I don't believe Rooney stamped on the other player on purpose either, if you watch he just loses his footing. Plus it should have been a free kick before that because those 2 players took him down loads of times.
oh well eh, theres always next time.
c'est la vie.

Can I just say I don't know how aidegunteng can say that football players can not change a referee`s decision, when you see it happening quite a lot. I don't think Wayne meant to stamp on him but I am in no doubt renaldo knew he was going to do anything in his power to cause trouble for Wayne, did you not see renaldo whispering in Wayne's ear then give him a butt to the back of his head before they had even kicked off, it was shown after the game on BBC 1

Well, I did notice the wink and the "shoooo". For the rest of the match, I had decided that I was no longer a CR fan. I was picturing myself deleting his pictures from my ManU file. That KAY POH(Busybody). He needn't go and appeal to the referee because the ref had the situation controlled. That idiot! Now he's gone and got himself a "best ACT on the pitch" award. That was his teammate and planning to piss your own teammate off is so disgusting. He doesn't deserve to wear the no.7 on his back. A black spot to the list of 7's with the likes of other 7's such as D.Beckham, Eric Cantona.....
I was booing him. That KAY POH, URGGGHH!!!
