Yad Vashem's Garden of the Righteous Gentiles was meant for those who risked and often lost their lives to protect Jewish people from the Nazis. My grandfather's grandparents lived in Germany at the time and used their farm as a stop in the underground railroad to help Jewish people escape. Famous people that I know of that have been given a tree have been Cori Ten Boom and Christl Denner(read the Nazi Officer's wife for more on what she did) as well as Irene Gut. I dont know what Wilm Hosenfeld did altogether in the war but many German Catholics died in Russian prison camps. If he did something to help protect Jewish people from the Holocaust then he may qualify but I am not an expert on their policies.
