I don't know where you are from, but in the U.K linking subjects in different areas of the curriculum is important. Here is a rough description of a science project I did with grade 2 kids. This was done near the end of the year when their skills had developed enough to handle it. It was about the Solar System.
I wrote brief descriptions of the planets on the board (one planet = one mini topic) after discussion and Q and A based on images from the net and books.
I then set 4 or 5 questions where they had to lift the right answer from their writing - comprehension.
We enacted what it would be like to live on these planets, after demonstrating things such as what acid does - with a glass of water and sugar cubes, to simulate dissolving - drama.
We made a paper mache Solar System with spherical balloons (I got them from India and the Sun was HUGE, the whole thing looked brilliant and the kids were so pleased with themselves)- art.
They wrote and illustrated a story imagining they lived on one of the planets, or one of their own invention - creative writing.
They had to find out facts about a planet for a homework -IT
We discussed size and scale, speed and distance - maths

I suggest you integrate as much as you can with core subjects (reading, writing and math). You can also make art activities out of it too. These days, science and social studies tend to get overlooked and are not fully developed. This is especially true of art so the more you integrate the better.

i do not comprehend something about being a instructor yet i'm attempting to ascertain this from an common grade perspective. I type of see the annoying circumstances of preparation technology (historic previous too yet that would not somewhat be conscious on your question). I advise for the different topics, it really is really trouble-free to ascertain if a student is popular with the fabric. For math, they somewhat want to entice close a thanks to exercising consultation the topic matters, and in analyzing in the adventure that they do no longer comprehend a thanks to ascertain nicely then that's somewhat talked about. i wager the project will be to get the student to understand. they are no longer extreme schoolers or students and someway you're able to make the fabric easier to understand. In common and center college....i had terrible instructors. As a strong student, I understood the fabric, yet i did not somewhat GET it. Does that even make experience? So somewhat, i'd are starting to be A's on my technology checks yet somewhat i became merely memorizing info that made no experience to me and regurgitating it on checks. And it did have an result on me reason i became somewhat in the back of in technology in extreme college. nicely, that's what i imagine is the major project of this concern (I truly do no longer comprehend a thanks to triumph over this yet i'm certain with instructor guidance you'll take care of). strong success to you =)

Doing! Fun! Problem solving! Weird experiential learning wins hands down with that age range.
Thinking about it, it works with my age range as well!

everytime i worked on experemints ihad to follow steps and make observations (kept track of them). It's easier to learn something you are a part of and can associate with everyday things in life.
