I believe that the government doesn't have the right to decide on this issue.
For everyone making a moral argument think about this....
In the USA, church and state are seperate, right?? Okay then.

I used to think that way about them to, but they are demanding special rights for themselves. Marraige is about being a family and having children. Family is the basic building block of society, and the last I heard, Gays cannot reproduce. They can adopt, or lesbians can choose artificial means of having children, but two same sex people cannot naturally reproduce. Thus breaking down the fabric of the family, in a way. That is one reason I am against gay marraige.
Another reason is I dont believe that gays are the innocent victims of discrimation they portray themselves as. Example, have you ever watched a gay parade? I saw the S.F. parade last year. All those children there watching on the streets. All the kids watching on T.V. And what did they see? I saw a float going down the street....the worlds tallest vagina. The vigina had the world longest finger stroking it. What else. Oh the usually fairies prancing about, women with butch haircuts talking about their latest legislation to get the courts to give them special rights. I say special rights because they already have the same rights you and I have, but they want rights for themselves too. All we need after that is special rights for everyone. The pedophile can have rights to marry kids. The beastialist can have rights to marry his goat. The bisexual can marry both a man and a woman. Etc... the ole "slippery slope" argument.
I would respect gays a lot more if they would do what they say they want to do, keep it in the privacy of their own homes, and not in the courts, street, or in our faces. We dont want to see it.

God is very clear on His views on marriage! It is a contract with a man , a woman , and The Living God: a life long contract.. Homosexuals are excluded.. You should be asking " What is the govt doing getting involved with Church bussiness?" Govt has no business meddling in marriage at all ,, that is a serious breach of privacy..

Spousal benefits mean anything. They say its just for insurance but they would get much more. Picture this, your mother or father comes out of the closet , gets married to a butch or Lillian or whatever. Then they die. who do you think gets everything? I think you should ask yourself allot of tough questions. Personally I would be allot better off with it if it were a strait marriage.

They are citizens of this country just like the rest of us, so why shouldn't they be able to enjoy the same freedoms and opportunities, it's not like they're asking to go out and kill anyone, they just want to have the legal documentation to show they are a family too. I say screw Bush and leave them be. If you can find someone to love who loves you back in this crazy world, more power to you. GO FOR IT.............

I think that if it's taken too literally or liberally it will become a problem. If people believe in god, and if people believe in hell, then they certainly know that that god or person or thing has made these people gay for a reason and to overreact is to invite evil in. fighting them or joining them is both a sin so just don't.

It's just like interracial marriage used to be years ago. To some people, it will never be okay, but eventually I think the general populace will just let be.

I believe marriage is a sacred union between man and woman and should remain as such. I do however, believe gays should have rights to bond in a union of their own.
