Between his significant leg injury that put him out for a while, his off-field relationships with models, and his weight gain and lack of training time, his country is reluctant to put him on the same pedestal Pele is on. The respect isn't there.

i hope ppl will stop bashing them for loosing...
they are good players but they decided to play like if they were in first round or something... but then again france did their job so well...
i am a fan of brazil and ronaldo...
it is not like brazil have to win the cup or something , one win other loose that is what sports especially games like football is about...
i wish ppl would refrain from calling him fat and whatever.. he did shoot goals for brazil for this world cup...
it was (and even in the beginning of this wc ) the almost same reaction for zidane , i think .but look at him now...he is 33
ronaldo is 27 .. history shows that there can be a comeback..

i don't know what's wrong with all the brazilian stars :[ in this whole WC, i saw them play average only once. the 3 other times they sucked! where's ronaldo who hit a world record with 15 goals? where's ronaldinho who was voted as the best player in 2005? where are all the skills brazilians have?? it is so sad. their loss was a shame yesterday and all brazilian fans are heart-broken cz we believed on them deeply

I heard many jokes about his weight when I was at the pub. He has gotten bigger. He could still destroy me in soccer though.
