I tried this code
my site in on geocities every time I click the music-icon.gif it gives me a screen saying sorry the web page yo requested doesn't exist I always expect the rectangle that says save but it never appears.

Better you can host your file in some file sharing network (like rapidshare.com) and give a link in your site.

Using an image is not necessary. Simply do this:

song.mp3 [less the extra spaces... had to do so to show full path]

This will make the words song.mp3 show in blue, and will be clickable/downloadable for your viewers.

Try using an absolute URL rather than a relative one. That is, something like this:

if the mp3 file is greater than 1MB, they don't allowed for it for free hosting.
change mp3 file with html file you will see it everything is ok!!!
