is there anyway to tell if its a guy's first time, esp if its ur first time too?

Ask him.

If you don't trust his answer or don't ask, and then if he is clumsy, awkward, nervous, maybe he hurts you a little bit, then it's most likely his first time. And yes, if he only goes for a minute or two, that's a good sign too.

I had sex with someone who was NOT a virgin, though, and he was clumsy, didn't know what he was doing, and hurt me. Only lasted two minutes. But it was only his third or fourth time, and it had been 5 or 6 years supposedly.

There isn't really any good way to tell; pretty much, you will have a "feeling" if it was or not, you'll be more sure later on (like when you've got more "experience" and you know what it's like to have sex with someone who has had sex before).

I would guess if he acts like he doesn't know what he's doing than it probably is his first time. My husband was my first but I wasn't his and he just took control of the situation and lead me in the right direction.
