IF, soldiers are found by a military tribunal to have committed war crimes, then they should be punished. If however, troops were forced to defend themselves against terrorist ambushes launched from within civilian houses, what were they supposed to do just die? The problem is that we have a media invested in magnifying any allegation of US. brutality into front page news without checking out if it's true. The liberals and the media WANT us to lose this war, if we don't that means that they were wromg all along.

The UCMJ is made for that. We have things in place to handle our troops if they commit a war crime.

I also believe your a bit biased saying the US and Isreal. Should anything have been done about the rape rooms and acid rooms of Saddam? What about the killings in Darfur, I guess that doesn't rise to war crime status. What about the rocket attacks on Ireali civilian settlements from Gaza. Countries have the right to defend themselves, just because you win doesn't make it a war crime.

Yes! We didn't go to war to commit crimes against innocent children and bystanders. I don't even know why we're at war! I hate war, it's NOT a solution!

Send them to the Hague and International Criminal Court like every other country does with their war criminals. Americans shouldn't be immune to sitting in the Hague or be tried domestically because they come from a superpower nation.

They should be brought before the world war crimes tribunal in the Hague, like all other war criminals.

I don't believe in the instance of war the everyday laws should apply. In the case of the war that we're in now...........have you watched the news? How many of the POWs that the Americans are holding have had their heads lopped or sawed off? And, as far as killing innocent civilians? How do we know who they are when they don't wear any kind of uniform and women and children are used to walk into a place with bombs to kill as many as they can?

My father was at Normandy in WWII. I've asked him what he thinks about all this. He told me that when they had German prisoners they were given orders that if one got out and tried to escape they were to shoot to kill. IF that happened they were given a carton of cigarettes and sent to a different unit. It was never discussed further.

As far as I'm concerned it's kill or be killed.

They need to be court martialed, maybe put to death or have serious sentences. I agree with the war, but not with the crimes, are we not trying to stop the crimes Saddam was doing?
