If I am not into the guy I just say I appreciate the offer but I really can't (if i have a boyfriend at the time I say you can call "so-and-so" and see how he feels about it.) That way they don't feel so bad about it. And then the guys knows that you are not available for a date. I always feel flattered if someone wants to ask me out.

It hurts because the guy has to summon courage to ask the girl out and then be denied.
It used to bother me but now, I say to heck with her. :) I would rather a girl tell me no than play games or lead you on.
