No, chosen behavior has no bearing upon an innate characteristic such as sexuality.
The chosen phrase MIGHT indicate his sexuality, if that's why he chose it--if he's actually in denial about his sexuality, then it's highly unlikely that this is his reason for choosing that phrase.
There are many other possible reasons for choosing that phrase. Perhaps he has an illness he's trying to overcome. Maybe he was mocked a lot for a hobby. Maybe he's even just proud of who he is as a person.
If there are other reasons you think he may be gay (perhaps caught him checking out a guy. Keep in mind, though, that there are feminine hetero guys, so don't let that behavior confuse you) then the best thing to do is make it known that he can talk to you. If you're silent on the issue, he may never confide in you out of fear. Directly asking may also cause fear. If you want to help your friend, comment on a news article about gay marriage, or something similar, and mention distaste for bigots.

No that does not make you gay. Either u are gay or your not and the only one that can tell is that person. Gay people know that they are gay at a very young age. Some choose to deny the fact even when all the signs are there and i have known many a person that sounded, dressed, and acted like a total flamer and where totally straight and most of my gay friends u wouldnt even know they where gay unless u walked in on them and their lover in the bedroom. The only way to know if a person is gay is to ask them flat out most gay people are not to ashamed to admitt it since the gay community is more widely accepted now adays.

No it doesn't my husband has peirced nipples and the very same tatoo on his back. Not a big deal. If u think ur friend is gay ... Look for better signs than that. He may just have a strong feminine side

Being "gay" is a state of sexual preference, either in word or mind, I do not see a connection between body art and sexual preference. Why force a connection when there is none, why ask at all if it is not your concern. If it is your concern communicate with them and not us! Good luck!
