In an "i eat other species" centric world , the modern day cannibal finds doors closed to him/her at every turn. For instance how many cannibals can you name who are judges , doctors or politicians (actually scrub that last category however I digress).
Some of my best friends are Cannibals and one who recently tried to book a holiday to Majorca was disgusted to learn that they would only accept him "self-catering"

Are you refer to cannibals as in ethnic tribes that still practice cannibalism or the odd man who keeps dead bodies in his freezer?
I think the main problem is the fact that they kill people. I guess if cannibals only ate people who had died of other causes, whos corpses they were allowed, then that would pose an interesting question.
I expect that there would still be alot of discrimation, although they are only eating bodies that would otherwise be wasted.
In a completely unbiased view I suppose that this could be seen as a good thing, they would be scavenging instead of using up resources. I.e. instead of eating a cow that was killed for his plate, he is eating a human that has died naturally and he is merely recycling the nutrients.
Hmmmm.

this is something i also feel strongly about.
gays and the like get there day in the sun so why not cannibals
if we are really a fair and just people we should give the same rights to cannibals as to gays.
Yes lets treat cannibals as if they were gay.

It is due to the culture of the individual who perceives that cannibalism is a taboo. That seems to be always the point of reference. Just like any individual in this world, each one of us tend to stereotype based mainly on our culture

Two cannibals were eating a clown. One says to the other one 'I think this tastes funny'.

do you even know the meaning of cannibals? How would you like to be put in a pot and boiled for dinner?

Do they?
I dont actually know any so I have no idea if they suffer. And given that you might know one based on your question - id say your jolly lucky to still be here to ask this question on their behalf!
friendly smile.... jan
on a serious note, it has a lot to do with cultural beliefs and lack of acceptance of ppl to accept others belief systems

That's a good question. I recently found myself in a boiling pot, and I was screaming and calling them all sorts of names... when I realised I was speaking from my own ethnocentric perspectives... So I decided, "hey, they're people and I'm a person. Their lifestyle may be different from mine, but variety is the spice of life..."
Cumin, evidently, is the spice of death however, as that's what they were mixing in the pot...

Do I really need to state the obvious. Would you want to live next door to a person who considers you their main meal? Meaning first they would kill you, then eat you (raw or cooked) for their supper?
Good grief have you lived under a rock all your life gal?
