Yes, this is very normal and NO, you dont have to talk to the babies doctor about this! Think about it, babies are in the womb for 10 months, in all water. When they come out and are placed in the harsh environment of earth with wind and sun, the skin will have a tendency to dry out and start to peel. My daughters skin did this same thing and it went away in about a week or so, you can put lotion or vaseline on it to help it along but mostly you will just have to wait for it to go away. One word of advice, dont use baby oil that contains mineral oil (only Arbonne baby products do not) because it is known to cause cancer.

Well, it's not normal from what I know. But try giving the baby a bath with some mild antibacterial soap, and then putting on some mild lotion. Normally, if the baby's skin is peeling then it could be due a normal skin bacteria, and so I think if you give the baby a bath in mild antibacterial soap then perhaps it will reduce the effects of the bacteria. If this doesn't help take the baby to a doctor.

this is normal, my son had that problem too. Remember that it will take a little while before they are given a good bath, so in the mean time talk to your child's doctor about it and maybe try applying some lotion...but be careful, because my son was allergic to Johnson & Johnson products (so was I) so I used Baby Magic......but don't worry too much about it, it is very normal for babies to have peeling skin their first weeks after birth!

Don't use anything other than palm oil product. They are natural and won't dry the skin. Some babies do peel a little after they are born. Go to a health food store and get natural products. Most "baby" products are bad for their skins

My kids have dry skin. First of all been a baby and having dry skill you should give the a bath every day but every other day. Babies are not like adults they do not sweet as much. By not taken a bath every day it help the body keep in some of its moisture. I'm not just tilling you this this comes form my kids doctor. I also use Dove soap because its a moisturizing bar and I keep lots of coco butter on them.

My daughter is almost 2 and she has had eczema since she was born. I agree with the palm oil advice, everything I used that had sodium laurel sulfate or ANY fragrance irritated her. For baths I suggest natural palm oil soap only and remember to wash his bedding and clothing in a hypoallergenic soap, like the free&clear stuff, keep his baths to under 10 minutes and about 3 times a week unless he's truly dirty, and always remember to use lotion after a bath, I use aquaphor ointment on my daughter. Please still talk to his doctor though before you do any of this, it may not be right for him. Good luck! :)

It is very normal...my son had the same thing and the doctor said to leave it alone and the baby's new skin will adjust to its new enviroment. If it gets real bad you can use Shea butter which is non toxic and natural. You can buy it at the GNC. Don't buy the Shea Butter lotion. That is not the natural stuff. The natural stuff looks like paste. It works wonders and leaves your baby's skin soft and silky....Peace!!!

Use the Avenno lotion. My baby's skin was peeling really really bad and aveeno worked wonders for her skin. I usually massaged her 3 time a day with it. I got better quickly

This is very normal. After a bath, give him some lotion.
I have always used Johnson & Johnson's - I, along with my kids, have very sensitive skin and have found this to be gentle, good smelling, and clean!!

Go to the babies doctor, he may have a condition, which may require care.
In most cases he might prescribe a special baby lotion.
