What about Cheney's Daughter? What about Rumsfeld's kids? Or is it another case of the poor and middleclass fighting while these jerks hide away.

Yep, it's because war is what poor people fight. Historically, rich people send poor people to battle and reward them with pay. This isn't a partisan issue, it's a class issue.

The rich, the powerful and the ego driven start wars. The poor fight them.

When the draft was eliminated it ensured that no sons or daughters of politicians would ever be put in harms way.

(Side note: Prescott Bush, Dubya's grandfather, was so proud of his son George fighting in WWII that he helped start the USO so that American soldiers, wherever they were in the world, could find a taste of home at any local USO.

Imagine how old Prescott would feel about his own son pulling strings to get Dubya out of serving in Viet Nam?)

You Left Wing Dummy. You either volunteer or you don't. Anyone who joins he military knows there is a chance to go to war; rich or poor! The military is great way to pull yourself out of poverty; IF your poor & whats wrong with that. I was poor and I served in OIF and now I'm going to school with my GI bill and I've got a better job than I ever would have had if I wasn't a Marine VET. You left wings are supposed to be for the poor but you steady oppose things to help break the cycle of poverty e.g. School vouchers; And support things that ensure poverty e.g. Welfare
Why don't you do your part instead passing judgment on others.

Because President Bush believes the war is "important and just" doesn't meant hat his daughters are now obligated to military service. Service in the Armed Forces is a personal decision that should not be made just because of who your father is. They should not be held accountable for what their father believes.

I would also like to remind everyone, being a member of a high-income family who has served in the military, that not everyone who serves is poor, and not everyone who has greater financial freedom does not. Stereotypes often degrade and do not do justice to anyone involved.

First of all i don't think the president can force his kids to join the military. The USA is not in a draft so the people in the military are chosing to be. Plus women aren't allowed in the infantry.

In the usa we have an all volunteer armed force. Do you know what volunteer means? Or are you to liberal and stupid to know the meaning of such simple words?

BTW, ur the jerk, not them. You sit on ur **** taking pot shots at people who dont know you even exist, like they would even care. Ur a pathetic creature and hopefully someday you'll crawl back under the toilet see whence you came from.

they should be the only ones drafted and forced into infantry. the war would be over immediately and all the troops would come home.
