Hmmmm... sounds to me like it's the typical situation with straight guys and women. In other words, a lot of people like a challenge. For you to try to talk to them shows interest...but it might be better if you feigned disinterest, and went about your own business..eventually you might get some hits.
Incidentally, I'm not gay, but I like to frequent all kinds of places for the hell of it, including the gay bars. When I go in there, even though I'm straight, I get all kinds of compliments and I don't have to buy a drink. I don't mean to brag; I'm just saying that if you play your cards right, you can bring them to you.

In a similar, but not completley the same vein as those above, I'd say return the gaze, but don't walk up. Not right away. Talk to a friend or something, look again. If you meet eyes 2 or three times, THEN try going up. (Or, hopefully, you've lured them over to you by then).

I agree with merlin - steele , probably just playing a little game of cat and mouse, or maybe they are not really sure you are gay, who knows ? - next time I would say don't talk , just smile and don't approach unless someone buys you a drink

Its the thrill of the chase hun. I have a friend who is gay and he is quite guilty of this. If you want them igore them a little make them chase you. you will drive them crazy.
