What was USA's FIFA ranking when World Cup started?

According to FIFA's World Ranking Chart which came out just prior to the 2006 World Cup, the United States is ranked 5th in the world, down one slot from April of 06. The full chart can be found below. http://fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/index/0,2548,All-May-2006,00.html.
Admittedly, the United States players believe their ranking is unjustified and they should actually be ranked somewhere closer to 15th rather than 5th. FIFA need to re-evaluate its determining factors for world rankings and recognize that some confederations are much lighter in depth than others.

4th or 5th but that is nothing they can be first and still u will never win the world cup :D

Does it really matter-it doesn't mean anything anyway.
I mean 5? More like 50! They left off the 0-used it for their scoring.

they ranked 5th as of 17.05.2006, behind BRAZIL, CZECH REPUBLIC, NETHERLANDS & MEXICO.
