Yes. The U.S. owes the Iranian people an apology.

For purely selfish financial reasons, the CIA overthrew the democratically elected, forward thinking, pro-western leader of Iran in 1953, to get control of the oil.

The Brit's had just been kicked out for having been screwing the Iranian people out of their oil wealth for far too long.

The Iranians had asked the Brits to accept a 50/50 sharing of the profits of the oil sales, but that wasn't enough for the Brits. They tried to overthrow the Iranian president, which lead to their being kicked out of the country.

The Brits then asked the U.S. to overthrow the Iranian leader. The U.S./CIA did so, in 1953, and as noted, installed the extremely oppressive Shah.

The only place in Iranian society, in which people were still allowed to openly discuss thier political dissatisfaction without being killed, were in the Islamic mosques.
Thus, the movement that finally overthrew the Shah, in the 1970s, was of course, an Islamic religious movement.

Had the CIA not overthrown the democratically elected pro-western, freedom-oriented leader of Iran in 1953, Iran would very likely not be a radical Islamic state now.

So, the U.S. owes the Iranian people an apology for stealing there oil, for overthrowing their democracy, and for turning them eventually, into a religious state.

Additionally, the CIA owes the U.S. population an apology for turning Iran into an extremely anti-U.S., Islamic state.

This is not an isolated incident, this is a habit of the CIA: overthrowing democracies to install oppressive governments that end up creating strongly anti-U.S. movements around the world.

What is this apology crap? Everyone wants an apology for every damned thing these days. Why is it only the stronger countries are asked to apologize, while the weaker countries and muslims are never asked a damned thing? Why is it that Islamo Fascists are killing, raping, and robbing all over the world, and stupid f'ckers like urself aren't even paying them no mind? You want an apology? Apologize this, butthole.

Lets try a more accurate depiction of history.

1979
1) Students (terrorists) seized control of the U.S Embassy, kidnapping, and holding hostage 70 Americans for over 400 days.
The revolution which occurred was originally comprised of three different political groups: 1) democratic nationalists 2) Marxist (soviet) 3) Islamists.

After the revolution, the marxist and islamists, minimalized the effort on behalf of the domocratic nationalists and eventually violently eliminated them. Foolish marxists, shortly thereafter the islamists, eliminated the marxists.

REMEMBER - slamming the U.S. when you are a U.S citizen is easy. Unlike the countries your defending, we won't be-head you!! Grow UP, Wake Up!!

If you do something wrong then obviously you'll have to apologize. Did America do something wrong in this case?

Let me put it in a view that's easier to understand. If somebody comes to your house and does whatever he/she pleases that you don't like, as an owner do you expect an apology from this person? And if he/she doesn't apologize and you retaliate by burning his/her house down, who should we blame?
