My kids seem to have head lice all the time from kids in school, and we have perfected this method. It is a pain and a time consuming method, but it works!

The best way to rid yourself of head lice is to purchase a common head lice shampoo and use it as per the instructions. Do Not attempt to cheat on the method - this will cause more harm than good. Do not assume that the eggs will be dealt with - even if it says so on the package. Shampoo rarely manages to enter the hard shell on an egg, and even one egg left in the hair will cause reinfestation.

After you have washed your hair with the shampoo, comb it with a normal comb. Spread a thick layer of conditioner on your hair. This will paralize any lice for 20 minutes and will help you to comb the hair out. Seperate the hair into many bunches. using a GOOD lice comb, comb the hair from root to tip. Wipe comb on a white tissue or towel. If there are dead lice, you will know that the shampoo was successful. If they are not dead, you will have to repeat the excersize with a shampoo with a different base ingredient. Yuo will also see some nits (eggs) when you comb the hair. Repeat with each bunch of hair until the bunch is clean. Pin up and moveon to next bunch. Do not allow clean hair to touch the non-combed hair. You must relayer hair with conditioner every 20 minutes.

When you are done, wash the comb and your hair, and tie up. Change linens and wash in a hot load. Wash any towels and hair coverings. If you cant do that, place them in an air tight bag fro 14 days. Clean and wash your combs and hair brushes.

You MUST repeat the process 7-9 days later, in case an unhatched egg was left behind. This will ensure that you "get it" before it can relay its eggs.

The combing can take an hour or two, depending on length of hair. I stick a movie in the computer, and pretend that I am relaxing - it takes the frustration out of the process.

As for cockroaches, the only effective way to get rid of them is to have the house fumigated. Call a licensed fumigator to do the job, and make sleeping arrangements elsewhere for a few days. Ask him what you can do to protect your house from the process - put away all dishes and food etc.

Good Luck!

Boric Powder- it kills all the pests in you house. Also go to a Chinese grocery store and ask for this piece of chalk that has a picture of a cockroach on it. These two things will get rids of cockroaches for good, and I am sure the boric powder is strong enough to kill the lice too.

I have had roaches before and for a long time it seemed I could never get rid of them, until someone recommend this to me. So try it.... you have nothing to lose.

Sheesh sounds like its time to move. You must live in an apartment where it is just getting reinfested because no one else in the building cares. Or you live with other people who aren't doing their part to make sure they treat all their stuff?
I can understand having to chase the cockroaches a couple of times if your not doing it professionally but the lice shouldn't be a reoccurring problem if done right.

There was a guy on the radio yesterday who was talking about head lice. He said the latest thing is a shampoo which has a trace of coconut oil in it, this is deadly to them. Put these into google because there are quite a few sites which offer solutions.

Lice: check with a doctor, but I think the doc's recommendation will be cut your hair short, use anti-lice shampoo, do some extreme laundry.
Cockroaches: poison bait applied inside walls.

everyone has given you good advice on how to get rid of lice. but you also have to cleean all you bedding. put all you sheets and pillow in boiling water. or the eggs will keep hatching and you will always have lice. then maybe put your pilliow in a plastic bag until you eraticate them from your person. that way they won't get back into you pillow.of cours put a pillow case over everything.

I don't know about cockroaches but lice can be handled with tea tree oil shampoo. It actually melts the little F***ers. Daily use will prevent them too.
Good Luck!
