What you say would be meaningful if the Bible was meaningful. Unfortunately for fundamentalists, it isn't meaningful, it isn't inspired, and it isn't divine, not now, and not in any historic copy.

While we have none of the autographs of the Bible, the early manuscripts we do have have and that are known to be genuine, by the most conservative estimates, have 200,000 differences between the wording in them, and while many are not meaningful, some completely change the doctrine of the church. (Ehrman, Bart, Ph.D.; Misquoting Jesus: The story behind who changed the Bible and Why; Harper Collins, 2006 -- p. 89). less conservative estimates range up to about 400,000 -- and there are programmers now endeavoring to write a program that will be able to count the exact number of variances.

And that's only the start of the difficulties for the Bible. If you only use the Textus Receptus (Received Text) as it is printed in modern Bibles then you are looking at enormous problems anyway -- in fact insurmountable ones. The World does not have corners (Isaiah 11:12), nor does it sit on pillars (I Samuel 2:8), nor water (Psalms 24:1-2). God did not establish a solid dome over the earth (that's what firmament literally means) and he does not have a palace on top of it from which angels can come and go up Jacob's ladder -- which might be reached by the tower of babel -- and where he keeps "treasuries" of hail and snow (Job 38: 22-23). For the sake of all that is decent, you can't even harmonize the 1st and 2nd chapters of Genesis with each other, say nothing of being able to defend the Biblical creation as scientifically factual. That's no surprise though, as the Bible tells us that beetles have four legs (Leviticus 11: 21-23) and that rabbits chew their cuds (Deuteronomy 14:7). It says that pi is 3, not 3.14 (I Kings 7:23 and 2 Chronicles 4:2) and that the mustard seed is the smallest seed in the world and grows into a tree [neither of which are true] (Matthew 13: 31-32). It is hardly a font of rational thought or scientific accuracy. Furthermore these errors only scratch the surface. Try harmonizing accounts in Joshua and the telling of the same tales in timeline in Judges sometime. If you can you are more proficient than any theologian I've ever met, and I've met a few.

Late bronze age men created the OT and early iron age ones the NT. It is not surprising therefore that God cannot lead Israel to defeat Iron chariots after promising he would (Judges 1:19), and it is not surprising that the flight of Israel from the god Chemosh, after the king of a city the Jews were beseiging and that God had promised them they would overthrow The King of the city offered his own son to Chemosh as a human sacrifice, resulting in Chemosh driving the Israelites away (2 Kings 3: 19-27) -- further it is not surprising that no punishment is mentioned -- the Israelites were still sacrificing their own children, as is evidenced in several places, but most graphically in Judges 11:30-39

The long and short of it is, the Bible is a mythic book, written by bronze and iron age men who were recording primarily oral legends in written form. In any realistic sense it is drivel. You can see, just in the passages I noted above from 2 Kings -- the last vestiges of polytheism fading away. Chemosh was supposed to get power from human sacrifice, just as Jehovah did -- and that power allowed him to turn the table against Israel, despite the fact that God was with Israel.

Read the verses, read the context -- to all the things I've suggested, calm your breathing and thinking and ask yourself if this is really the God of the Universe you are reading about -- or a tribal deity, which has now evolved into the one we worship. I think you will find biblegod sadly lacking -- something the liturgical churches have been saying for hundreds of years. If you find yourself unwilling to even look -- ask yourself why? Are you willing to sacrifice the truth, in order to maintain a comfortable myth for yourself?

And if you want a chuckle, read the second, and theoretically final version of the ten commandments. They are in Exodus 34: 10-26. That is the covenant Yahweh actually made with Israel. No seething here.

Have a nice day.

read the bible, its not good to hate. Im sorry you misinterpreted a few passages.
moronic
the bible says plain as day that premarital sex is bad, eating lobster is bad, eating pork is bad. So you better start hating people that do those things too. Do some research, the rate of homosexuality is the same in many different cultures. It is natural. By saying there is something wrong with us is like saying that God made us wrong and that he screwed up. Its just all the bigots thats dont understand it that force people to stay in the closet and become homophobes like you. You hate us to distance yourself because youre afraid of people thinking youre gay. I know straight people who arent afraid of gays, they may think its weird but thats no reason to hate someone.

Well isn't that special , you call yourself a Christan ? Where in the Bible does Christ say anything against homosexuals ? Where does he say hate anyone who is different from yourself ? The teachings of Christ teach only love , understanding and tolerance . Jesus was sent here to form a new covenant with man so that he may have everlasting life and have it more abundantly . Jesus taught us to love even the most despised of people , in his time it was the lepers . Jesus walked among them and extended his hand in love and tolerance for those who were despise by all of humanity . So here you are judge and jury over a whole group of people just because of their sexual orientation , you hate them . You had better read your Bible , It is very pain to those who judge others " Judge ye not least you be Judged " ! When you stand before God he will judge you the same way you have judged others in your life . May God have mercy on your soul .

I am a religious person, and I do too belive that it is not meant to be. HOWEVER, I do feel that, like a person who has diabetes or athsma, he is born with something which is part of him and with which he has to deal. Being gay is not easy - you are hated by ignorant people, you have a hard time finding a good realtionship, you are outcasts of "mainstream" society, you have to find yourself, you are misunderstood..... Why do you think that gay people deserve to be hated more than the guy who parks in the handicap parking or the person who shoves in front of you in the line in the store? Why do you think that you are doing the world a favor by hating gay men? If anything, they deserve your respect for living with a problem which is has bigger repurcussions within society than bad acne or a small penis. Get your priorities right - go read the bible yourself. Mine has a "love your neighbor as yourself" in it somewhere. Maybe your copy is missing that one.

Is it anatomically possible to fauk oneself? Not quite sure on that one.

Second of all, how are you going to come to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered section and expect to get the answer that you want??? I know you only want to hear from folks who agree with you. So, it looks like your strategy has failed.

And as far as reading the bible goes, the only thing I took away from that book is this. God is supposed to be Love. I would imagine that with the state of the world today, God is rather happy to see all different forms of love. I'm so sorry it doesn't match up to your idea of what love is. But we're not that narrow. And, I'm happy to say, there are a lot of straight folks out there who understand what love is, and that it is all encompassing.

Back in biblical times God had chosen the Jews to be his most beloved people mainly because they were the children of Abraham...and basically out numbered..so in order for them the nation of Isarel he was saying that in order to become a great nation and rise up against their enemies they needed to reproduce..and not waste any seed as was done in Sodom and Gomorha. It is not for us mortals to play God and try to judge people no matter what they are or who they are..noy even your pitiful self...be careful how you judge since you don't like gays what would you do if all your children turn out to be gay?It could happen just to teach you some tolorence.God created everyone he is the judge not you...

Please try to be both civil and logical.

You make a faulty assumption that everyone accepts the truth of the Bible. For those of us that don't, your argument is pointless.

Though I don't believe that the Bible contains the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I have certainly read it. It does indeed make it fairly clear, in my opinion, that God doesn't like homosexuality. But Jesus also makes something amply clear—that you are supposed to love everyone. Christians are supposed to try to be like Jesus, right? Jesus loved everyone—homosexuals included—so much that he died on the cross for them. The Bible makes it amply clear that you are to love people, regardless of whether they're sinners or not.

I would suggest that -you- read the Bible. In its entirety. Not just choice passages from Leviticus and Romans that you want to use to justify your illogical fear and loathing of a group of people with sexual tastes different from your own.

I must say that I definitely do not doubt your claim that you are not gay. Gay people are generally not so hateful as you are.

Nope, I do not believe in self hate - actually I don't believe hate in any form is good. I do feel sorry for you though. You sound unhappy and unloved and - well you basically just sound like an awful person. I don't konw what kind of home life you had so I won't judge you but you really need to let some light in that cold dark heart of yours.

maybe YOU should try reading the bible...

2 Kings 9:32 - And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

Isaiah 56
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Daniel 1
9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

Matthew 19:12 - For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Nope. I work with five gay people and find them like everyone else. Some I like and some I don't care for. The subject of their gayness never comes up. I think that is the key. There is no way I agree that being homosexual is normal. However, we humans are weak, very weak. We fall into all kinds of stuff that certainly enslave us. Which one of us can pick up a stone?
