nothing gets stains out of my laundry!!! I've tried the Oxy stuff, the Spray and whatever stuff, all color bleach, the rubbing in of the laundry detergent, the yellow stuff, the purple stuff, the white vinegar, and the new shout/oxy double stuff.

I'm just talking abouit everyday stains...a little bit of food grease here and there. A little bit of red clay. Dirty doggie prints. Occasionally blood and grass stains. Nothing unusual.

Anybody know anything that I don't?

You should have your water tested for high minerals. Untreated water makes cleaning more difficult and encourages the depositing and redepositing of dirt and mineral compounds onto fabrics.

There are three ways to help control water hardness when doing the laundry.

Use adequate amounts of an appropriate detergent and water as hot as recommended for the fabric.
Use a packaged water softener - often labeled water condidoner.
Install a water softening unit.

Packaged Water Softeners. To be most effective, a water conditioner should be added at the beginning of both the wash and the rinse cycles. The conditioner's chemicals tie up the hardness minerals, and allow the detergent to do a good cleaning job.

There are two kinds of water conditioners, precipitating and nonprecipitating. Nonprecipitating types are best for hard water laundering because they remove hardness minerals and hold them in solution. This allows them to be flushed away rather than deposited on the clothes as the water is extracted during spinning and rinsing. Precipitating types combine with hardness minerals to form solid particles that cloud the water and cling to fabrics. Nonprecipitating types of water conditioners are recommended for automatic washers

Wow I am sorry your having such a hard time with your laundry... you could bring it here and I can get just about any stain out. I use GAIN and Shout for most of my laundry. When I get something on my cloth I use shout and let it sit for a few mins then throw it in the wash.
But you have to use a lot not just a little spray. [Oh I forgot... Shake the bottle real good first... most people forget to do this]

Blood is easy I use peroxide soak it first... you might want to try an area that doesn't show much though sometime peroxide can change the color of cloth, however I have no trouble so far. rub real good and repeat again and again until it is gone rinse always in cold water.
Lemon Works on ink.

Many types of stains can be removed efficiently by applying fresh lime juice. For stubborn ones soak cloth in a good detergent for a minimum of 30 minutes and boil it in water for about 10 minutes in the same liquid. It should work. All the best.

I know for blood you can use peroxide.
And there is a hand cleaner called Orange Clean, it is pretty good with grease stains.
But other than that you are correct, comercials are a fairy tale.
