Thanks for your comments!
Do they make earplugs that fit into a baby's ear?

Of course, because at some time or another she is going to have this experience in the near future( sudden loud noises ), whether you want her to or not. (car backfires, tv, radio, sirens, etc). To begin this experience at an early age when there's someone around to assure her that all things are good, could easily prevent such problems in later life. Who knows....she might even enjoy it.

Baby Fireworks

I took my oldest son and my twins to see their first fireworks shows at 6 weeks of age. We actually went to a friend's house and walked to the end of the street so we could see the fireworks but were far enough away that they sounded like a pop instead of a bang. Fireworks also start really late but the baby can sleep in your arms, in the stroller or even in her carrier. It is not something she will remember but it is something you and your husband will remember and be able to look back on in the future with a smile when she is wanting to go watch fireworks with her friends instead of her parents. I say go to the show but don't get to close and enjoy it!!!

I did. My daughter was about 2 months old when we took her to see her first fireworks. We were sitting very close (there was no other place), and she slept right through it. She did the same when she was a year old. By the time she was 2, she really enjoyed it. And last year, when she was 3, it scared her.

There is no way to know how your daughter will take to it. If you want to go, then go, but try to make arrangements for a quick get-away if necessary. And plan to nurse her thoughout the show; if anything can calm her down, that will.

If you can find a place that is far away, but can see them well, go. There have been reports of burns from works coming down. The noise is extremely loud and it is just not a good idea to be close with a baby. If you can get a baby-sitter, that would be great. You and your hubby could have time alone and enjoy yourselves.

I think the fireworks' noise would scare her, yes. They really are very loud. Can you get a sitter and go with your husband, leaving the baby at home?

Sorry I can't help you out.

we (my husband & I) just took our babies ages 15 months & 2 years out to the fireworks. We took them last year as well & our 15 month old was only 3 months old at the time. We stayed back away from them a bit so that the "bang" wasn't as loud but he enjoyed them. If your concerned about them hurting baby's ears or being to loud even from a distance try to pick up a set of ear plugs ~ they have them ones that look like padded ear muffs & you can pick them up at any hunting supply place.

I wouldn't. My third son went to his first fireworks show at the age of 9 months and had a fear of them all through his childhood. Next year would be a better idea.

It could ruin the evening if she is scared. Every baby is different. Some babies are afraid of thunder and some are not. We live below the biggest firework show in the state. It is shot off this big dam and we live below the dam. It was tonight and my baby grandson slept thru the who thing. I was amazed, because he is so afraid of many things.

It's really up to what you think is best. Every baby is different and if loud noise already bothers her and she scares easy you may want to wait. We are thinking of taking our son this year and he is 18 months. Last year he was only 7 months and we decided against it as he was already jumpy with loud noises.
