Has anyone experienced anything with the prenatal vitamins..When I took them they always made me nauseous and just real sick to my stomache so I stopped. They were the One Source Prenatal Vitamins. Anyone know if its normal or could it be the vitamins? And what are some good prenatal vitamins?

The prenatel vitamins I used in the begining of my pregnancy made me horribly sick. I assumed it was just morning sickness but Once I switched vitamins I had no trouble. My doc perscribed precare prenatal vitamins and they worked great for me. I couldn't tell you what I used before that, all I know is they were over the counter not perscription(maybe that made a difference i don't know). If your tummy is upset wheather it be due to the vitamins or not try to eat bland foods. Baked potatoes or mashed with very little or no seasoning, crackers (they work for a lot of people, but they didn't work for me), bananas (they were the best thing I found to work). They also sell preggy pops and they are supposed to work great, if you can't find them look on e-bay they can be found there almost always. If all else fails talk to your doc because it is best not to take medications of any kind but your doc can perscribe something for you if it continues and does not get better.

I've never had any direct experience with Prenatal Vitamins because, well, I'm a man. However, I do sell practitioner grade vitamins in my own practice.
My main supplier is Metagenics which manufactures premium supplements. They produce a prenatal pack.
However, if stomach upset is an issue, I suggest vitamins from Thorne Research. They sell two products geared towards your needs--Basic prenatal and Nutri-fem. Thorne Research is top notch stuff you won't find in a health food store. Only at a doctor's office or chiropractor's office. The great thing about their products is they are all very easy on the stomach!

Hope this helps.

I never get sick when I take my prenatal vitamins. Make sure you don't take them when you are drinking milk. My sister on the other hand, couldn't take keep them down, so she took 4 flinstone vitamins a day. Maybe you should try them, or another brand of prenatal vitamins. Good luck.

If you are eating when you are taking the vitamins and are still getting sick, ask your doctor to switch them for you. There is more than one type of prenatal vitamin.

It is common to experience feelings of queasiness with prenatal vitamins. Try taking them right before bed, with a little snack, like crackers. If that doesn't help, talk to your Dr. about alternatives. Whatever you do, don't just stop taking them, your baby needs those vitamins, especially the folic acid!

I never really had any bad reactions when I took my prenatal vitamins...they just made my pee neon yellow....but I have heard of people having different reactions to vitamins so I don't think its you or the vitamins necessarily...I would ask your doctor what type/brand is best for you...Good Luck!

During my preg. i took Optinate. It comes along with two vitamins. One is the regular prenatal pill and the other is a pill with dha that is basically for the baby's brain and such derived from vegetables and not fishes that was you won't have to worry about any illness that may arise. Good luck

could be getting too much iron. as long as your eating well and getting the extra vitamins in the food you eat you probably dont need them. Prenatal vitamins are all generally the same. You should get advice from your OB and possibly a blood test to see if your getting too much iron as it could be dangerous. and poisonous

Try changing vitamins. Ask your doc for some samples to try. The first ones I had made me belch like crazy and left an awful taste in my mouth. The ones I'm on now are MUCH Better and have no weird effects. (Except I pee more yellow!) Congratulations and good luck!
