I wanted to know if the above sentence cannot be used.
I used it because the other person had replied to my earlier query with this"Not so productive but i need to accomplish something definetly"

The above sentence is grammatically right although this would have been better: "Nice to know you want to achieve something".

It sounds slightly awkward. I would suggest : It's nice to know that today, you want to complete something. I don't know, it still sounds awkward.
