Spongebob is not gay man. Only a psychopath with mad delusions will think that Spongebob is gay. He is often seen with his best buddy Patrick...but while they do lots of stupid and moronic things together (why do you think they are so funny?) they never really do anything gay. Those religious right mo'fos like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell are insane for even bringing up such a mindless controversy. All for their political glory, the stupid f**ks.

Sponges, like Bob, are not gay or heterosexual. They are asexual. That's why he seems gay, androgeny, even in anthropomorphosized cartoon animals seems to unfairly get connected to homosexuality.
SPONGE REPRODUCTION
Sponges reproduce by both asexual and sexual means. Most poriferans that reproduce by sexual means are hermaphroditic and produce eggs and sperm at different times. Sperm are frequently "broadcast" into the water column. That is, sperm are created, concentrated and sent out the excurrent openings, sometimes in masses so dense that the sponges appear to be smoking. These sperm are subsequently captured by female sponges of the same species. Inside the female, the sperm are transported to eggs by special cells called archaeocytes. Fertilization occurs in the mesenchyme and the zygotes develop into ciliated larvae. Some sponges release their larvae, where others retain them for some time. Once the larvae are in the water column they settle and develop into juvenile sponges. Sponges that reproduce asexually produce buds or, more often, gemmules, which are packets of several cells of various types inside a protective covering. Fresh water sponges of the Spongillidae often produce gemmules prior to winter. These then develop into adult sponges beginning the following spring.

No, I think it is very sad that in America with the problems we currently have that the religious groups have nothing better to do than to create a witch hunt for gay animated characters.
Unless the character is having sex or making out with other characters who cares???

No, and neither is Tinky Winky or Bert and Ernie, or whoever else the nut cases are targeting lately.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it, how they try to find gay references in everything? Aren't they a little too...obsessed with it?

My son is 9yrs old and he thinks sponge bob is gay! Yet, he doesnt fully understand the meaning of gay as yet. As a parent I have taught him to love everyone despite peoples differences in sexuality :)
