where can i go nearby to light them if it is illigal

If the fireworks do not have "Safe and Sane" printed on them, they are illegal in California. If I was you I would head west a little and get away from the general public, maybe go over to the Carquinez Straits or something down near the water. Generally speaking I have never had a problem if I was away from the public and far enough away from the dry grass that may ignite. The closest "legal" placewould be in Nevada, I think Winnemucca may be okay. I think Tahoe and Reno both have ordinances. Basically anyplace you can "legally" buy them, you can set them off.

Firecrackers are illegal in the State of California. The nearest place you can go from Fairfield would be Tijuana, Mexico to light them off legally.

so far i dont think you can. best thing is to shoot them in the county. unless the county bans them as well.
