Yes: man will eventually set foot on Mars, but the real question posed is when? Our elected empowered in Washington lack the visionary appreciation of space exploration and sadly they hold the purse strings vital to NASA's survival; tolerating the Space Shuttle program as it is.
If we're to successfully land/inhabit Mars, then we NOW need to get busy with the necessary training.....and I can't think of a better place for that training than on our lunar Moon surface.
As for the idea to terra-form Mars to a stage where the planet carries a breathable atmosphere similar to Earth's: don't hold your breath of that happening quickly once we get there. It'll take at least two or so HUNDRED years for even the first small steps of terraform to occur.
I agree: we need to find Earth some deserved relief fast and Mars seems to be the ticket. But it's not going to happen fast sending robotic probes to the Red Planet and sitting on a fence.
We need to go full throttle as we did in the 70's with NASA space exploration--with the clear aim for a safe, successful journey to Mars.

This is a bias opinion. I think we could habitat mars but I do believe there were already inhabitants. Mars was left for a reason, probably sucked dry of nutrients, but they say they can and are going to try to make an atmosphere on mars.
We'll see it in our lives
We have to do something to get off this planet!
Peace

As at our MUSLIM history one of the good ones were a pupil at a non official school it called in Arabic KOTTAB ÙتÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙا ب
were located inside a Mosque every day he were late because he must cross the river so as his teacher ask him why you are late he told him its the river .
So his teacher told him to mention this phrase on the river it Will directly froze and you could cross the river
next day he goes there to the river side and he read
In the name of Allah the merciful the compassionate
بسÙ
اÙÙ٠اÙرØÙ
ÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙ٠اÙرØÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙÙ
then he cross over the water withe full confident
and coming to his colleagues early so his teacher ask him why you are early he told him that he do he told him exactly
Next day the teacher went to make the same and cross over the water because he haven't the confident to Cross so he felt in the water
This mean we must have
1)faith
2)confident
3)act
thanks a lot all of you

Indeed we will as soon as everyone stops wanting to live for ever and gets on with the space travel. I sure as hell wouldnt mind spending my whole life in space. It wouldnt take much for us to live on Mars. Oxygen, Water, Shelter, Food, Company, everything else isnt nescesary
