My daughter is a senior in college majoring in Political Science. One interest she has to be a lobbyist but doesn't know all their job responsibilities. Recently she met a lobbyist who gave her his number so she can talk with him. What questions should she ask the lobbyist?

She should ask him if there are any openings within his firm, or if his firm would allow her to intern over the summer while she is looking for a job. She should tell him where her interests lie and ask if he knows anyone who handles the sort of accounts that she's interested in. She could also ask if he is aware of any politicians who share her interests in social issues. If so, she may want to apply to work on their staff so that she can learn how things are accomplished behind the scenes. That would give her an advantage when applying to lobbying firms when she wants to switch careers.

If we would get rid of Big government and let people keep more of their har earned money we wouldn't need lobbyist to lobby our gvm't We could lobby politicians ourself. I know this doesn't have anything to do with your question but Thought I'd drop my 2 cents.

She should ask this:

"Do you realize that your profession is so rife with corruption and under handed tactics that even telemarketers despise you?"
