I know I'm not pregnant, but I'm over a month late. I had a bladder infection a couple of months ago, but it all cleared up.

There could be a number of reasons for it. The obvious one you've already eliminated. Other reasons could be stress and hormone imbalances. Of course, none of us can see you and ask the obvious questions about pain and tenderness in your abdomen, medication (and side effects), diet, regularity of periods, emotional health, and a host of other issues, so an internet diagnosis isn't a great idea.

It would be a good idea to ask your doctor on this. She will be much better equipped to look at the whole picture, worry over what needs worrying over, and assure you about the things that need assurance.

You probably have post menstrual stress. It is of course related with emotional stress. It can have an effect on how late your period comes. I'm studying premedicine. That's a guy like myself knows even about female situations. I'm going to become a doctor so I read a lot! Get a professional doctors opinion however, not just mine. Take care.

If you are an athlete then you may have a loss of period because of low body fat. That is one of the reasons the other that I can think of is that you might be one of the many that has irregular periods. The only way to know for sure is to go get a check up with a gynecologist.

It's not unusual for women to have occasional anovulatory cycles (a month in which they don't ovulate, so there's no bleeding two weeks later.) Also, women who are very skinny and/or very athletic, sometimes stop having periods. If it goes on for more than a month, check with your OB/GYN to be sure it's nothing serious.

Has this ever happened before? Are you taking birth control, or changes it? And what is your age? Stress, medications, menopause, illness can cause this too. You need to go to the doctors.
