You could look at this two ways. You could be asking if it is fair for a practitioner to have such a narrow scope in his field. Or you could be asking if he bases his conclusions on individual cases, using a preset developmental chart.
I say, how dare he over-estimate your level of comprehension. Have we not been told to seek our inner child? Have we not all hearkened back to the days of our youth? It would be unfair for him to evaluate you without knowing first whether you were going through your second childhood. Seek counsel immediately, retain a Lawyer and plead your case!

I would think so. They go according to the book, so when a 5 year old comes in, they treat the "client" the way they are trained to. I'm sure there are great child psychs that treat each child like human beings, but for the most part, they seem to be out for the money.
