San Jose, California.
Most of the other people here are just giving you second-rate opinions.
While Las Vegas seems like logical choice, the wealth of the city lies in the hands of the casino owners, not the state or its citizens.
NY seems like a logical choice as well. However, San Jose has proven to be the most economically advanced city of the year.

Los Angeles, home to a long list of rich neighborhoods (think Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and Holmby Hills), would seem an obvious candidate for any rich list. So would New York, where a penthouse is currently on the market for $70 million, and where property prices are so high it seems at times as though only moguls and celebrities can afford to live there.
But by at least one measure of wealth, neither city makes the list. To figure out the richest places, have a look at the American cities with the highest median household incomes (the level at which half of the households make more and half less), as measured for 2004 by the U.S. Census Bureau. And prepare to be taken aback.

New York City is one.
Here in Texas we have Piney Point and Hunter's Creek.

I'm sure I should look this up somewhere- that's what everyone else is doing. But I just can't help saying Santa Fe, NM without even looking......

well its between las vegas ( u have to have money to play at all the casinos!) and LA (do u no how much those houses cost!!!!!)
