Press the power button once - don't hold it in. It should come out of standby mode.

your computer has a battery that sometimes goes bad and needs to be replaced. Or your settings might be set to shut down or hibernate after a certian amount of time.

you probably have it configured to shut all your perhipals off such as your mouse and your keyboard. Double check your power settings.
