Unfortunately once it's sent you can't get it back. But, I recommend that you either write a note apologizing or write a note saying that someone else sent it or something.

If the email has not been opened yet, and you are using Microsoft Outlook then it is possible to retract the email. In Outlook hit f1 key and it will tell you exactly what to do.
I don't know of any other program that will let you do this....so I hope that is what you are using.
Otherwise a heart felt apology usually does the trick.

There is ONE way, as mentioned above. But you must use Microsoft Outlook, and both sender and recipient must be on a Microsoft Exchange Server, and the message must be unread.
Chances are this is not the case here.

Well, you can lie. You can tell the person your ex did it, your kids did it, or worst case, you did it but you were drunk.
Now, being more realistic, you should tell the person the truth. Tell them you were too hasty in speaking, you have regretted it ever since, and is there anyway that they could forgive you.
Best of luck. By the way, I've been there!

I was watching Judge Mathis and this subject was brought up. It can not. You need to roll with the punches and be more careful before pushing the SEND button again!

Can't be done, unless you manage the mail server the message goes out of and it batches them before sending them out.
Since that is probably not the case, you are out of luck.

Well, everyone's answer confirmed what I knew pretty well anyway - nope - There's no way to "bring back" an email. I bet we've all wished that there was (or is?).

Sorry.
You can't.
It is the same as the words out of your mouth, you can never get them back.
Experience is the hardest teacher: she gives the test first, then the lessons.
Again, sorry.

Does anyone remember when you could with AOL? I don't use AOL now and haven't for many years so I don't know if this feature is still available. Anyone remember this?
