why spend the time to answer questions on this website?

You obviously took time to post a question to find out what other people think. That's the point... connection with people and their thoughts... kind of cool to connect with people all over the country/world.

Because they're wayy better than questions you might get while conversing with the general public (for example: "hey man you got a light" or "you got a dollar" or the more inspiring "you got a cell phone by chance") and answering them is alot safer. If better questions could be asked and answered without crazies in public (me included 2) then there would be no need for yahoo.

The variety of people here is staggering, some cool, some total nutbunnies, some sharp as a tack, some dumber than a box of rocks. It's interesting to see all the different attitudes and mentalities there are in people.

Addiction. I've been on here about five months now. I've learned so much. I've made so many new friends. When I've had hard times, the community has supported me with their kind responses. They're always willing to find info for me and help me out. Yahoo! Answers has been very good for me, and I just want to give back.

Even if you are just reading questions, it's like peeking into someone's windows. Then you get sucked in to answer because we all think we know what is best for everyone. See.....my answer proved I'm right. ha ha

i love getting into people's heads. it is fun for me to see if other people think about the same things i do. and i enjoy giving advice about things that may help someone else. it's also pretty cool to get answers from people who don't know me when i have a question.

We all have questions we want answered. And maybe answering others' questions helps us figure out the answers to our own questions.

It was fun to begin with, then it really helped with a lot of questions I had, then teenagers or other whatevers started ruining this site with nonsense and stupid answers to serious questions.
