How do you pose well but not be too modelesque?

To me its soo hard to take good pictures. I mean im not ugly but its just hard to have a good pose.

umm stand up straight... smile... put 1 leg in front of the other.... and put 1 hand on ur hip ...i guess, thats what i do lol
