you see it all the time on here... "liberals love terrorists," "liberals hate soldiers and spit on them," (that one's from the 60s I think), "liberals love to burn the flag," "liberals kill babies," "liberals would love trees more than babies," "liberals hate America"....
it's really rediculous.... and at time funny how stupid you guys sound... I have never done any of these things, but you guys keep calling me a liberal...
most of those things are something that a group of 5 "liberals" did 10 years ago... far from representing the entire group...
so that either means you don't know what you're talking about when you call me a liberal
or
you don't know what you're talking about when your "listing all the bad things" liberals do
do "liberals" do this with the conservatives... I don't know that I have seen it... it seems that our criticism is much more polciy based...

Leniere: I just wonder to this extreme though... for example... and I think I used this before as an example... the war protesters were crazy conservatives... they said that solders should die because our country allowed abortions... clearly an pro-life conservative view... but I didn't see any questions or comments on here about "why do conservatives hate the troops" (I made one at one point, to make a point, and it was stated in the question), but most liberals would never imagine to take it to that extreme or imagine that anyone would believe it if we did... even though it often appears that some conservatives actually believe the totally off the wall stuff that they spout...

if 0 is a full blown liberal and 10 is a full blown conservative... I consider myself a 4... maybe a 3.5 on somedays... (maybe even more liberal on certain issues... more conservative on others)
O'Riley seems to be an 8/8.5, while coulter seems to be a 9... both seem to be a little silly... and even michael moore seems to be silly sometimes as a .5....
I don't really have a problem with the 3 to 7 folks... but all the other folks seem to be yelling the loudest are those at the 0,1,2,8,9,10 positions and they seem to be pulling more folks to their side, with things that don't appear to be very true, just twists of the truth

It's all part of the conservative media brainwashing that goes on all over the country. Rush Limbaugh and Fox News are not the only conservative liberal bashers out there. There are more than a thousand conservative talk show hosts all over the country who stir up all that hate, and they realize that if you repeat lies often enough, people will think it is the truth. Funny how the propaganda machine who decries the liberal media is using the same tool to spew their hatred.

The popular perception is that far left liberal groups are dominating the political debate of the democratic party. All you hear about are the insane positions of the ACLU.
If you don't support these wacky viewpoints, maybe you're really a budding conservative. We sure would like to have you among our ranks.
Just watch The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News if you want the definitive answer to your question. Maybe you haven't noticed, but the loudest voices from the liberal set are people like Cindy Sheehan and Al Franken. Practically every day, we're seeing some new outrageous act perpetrated by the far left. I think it's a lot more pervasive than you realize.

Both sides do it. They love to divide people upon class and party association. However I have a solution to this problem. Include the word "some" in every sentence you use where you use the words "Republican, Democrat, Conservative or Liberal." Some Republicans, some Democrats, some Conservatives or some Liberals." I am an individual. This is a worldwide problem and doesn't begin or end with just Conservatives. We all have to take responsibly and watch how we speak. Being careful not to place people into convenient little groups to further our own agendas.

If you are really tired of it then turn off Fox News and go to MSNBC or CNN ( The Communist News Network ), and by doing so you can have all anti-conservative sayings!!! And we say these things because most of the people that we have a problem with ( Hilary, Schumer, Boxer, Gore, John "Flipper" Kerry, Feinstein, Pelosi, Byrd) You most likely voted for so we have a right to say Liberals as a group because 90% of liberals voted for them. After 8 years of theology, i'm certain I truly have a minimum of the information that they posess. i hit upon it humorous and unhappy that they prefer to minimize the 'confusion' and 'liberal' references to God--Jehovah, Lord, Yahweh, etc. for sure, those human beings have not truly studied the bible and/or historic historic previous o.k., and do not realize that diverse non secular sects observed as God by utilizing diverse names. it isn't a 'liberal conspiracy' yet those who were residing in a unmarried section who believed in fairly diverse issues. that is clean those human beings opt to push aside the 'holy understand God' for his or her own own pastimes. <

They do this to galvanize their base. Liberals do it too. They over dramatize things to activate their followers and remind them why the other side is "bad".

it is a planned political strategy used effectively by conservatives. the american public is woefully uninformed on many issues. paint your oppoent with a broad brush. lump him in with radical extremists. it can make the difference in close elections. its an effective way of labeling or stereotyping.
