Depends..

1.) How much disk space do you want/need?
Are you trying to build a Huge website or trying to start low and then grow?
If so..you can Use YAHOO Hosting. or Go Daddy..or many more out there...
I personally use YAHOO Hosting

2.) Do you want your own domain name?
Well..First off You need your own Domain.
The domain name is the most important thing to look and think of at first..

Why is the DOMAIN so important?
The right domain name is catchy enough to stay in mind, and is easy to associate with your business. It's an example of branding, associating a particular business with a specific name. A great domain name stays in people's minds, and makes them think of that particular business whenever they see it.

YAHOO gives the DOMAIN registration for free..when you sign up for Hosting services

3.) who's going to create the HTML files and put them online?

are you going to be the designer of the website...or are you going to pay someone else..

Depending on the design and how often it will be updated...this cost is the highest..

Might go anywhere from $150 to $1,000+ and more..

TO START OFF...You might want to do it with a STARTER Yahoo webhosting Plan

With the Domain name Included...You will be paying a one time fee of
$8.96 +Tax
and $11.95 a month..

Not bad at all..

then the design is just like i said above

good Luck

Hello there:

This all depends on how big your company really is, how competent you are with comptuers yourself, and how much you know about website construction.

First, registering a domain name at companies such as GoDaddy.com or DirectNic.com costs from 9$ a year to about 21$ a years. This means that the URL address of your website is owned by you. By doing this, it is more secure (But just slightly more costly)

After that, you will need to consider web hosting. Several places I recommend:

http://www.servage.net - Located in Europe, but has high-speed access to North America. Extremely cheap, and efficient.

http://www.1and1hosting.com - Cheap, affordable hosting, great service, good packages.

This procedure costs anywhere from 5$ a month to 20$ a month. (Let's say you spend 10$ a month on this, you'd pay 120$ a year, plus 15$ (on average) for your domain name. Thus far, you pay about 135$ a year)

If you are a designer yourself, you can easily void design and construction fees. If you are a small company, you can get away with a design work for 100 - 200$. Medium sized companies require up to 800 - 2000$. Corporations require 10,000$+ budget.

There are professional designers who will go through all this hassle for you, show you how to set up your websites and design for you, etc.

My initial estimation would abe 135$ a year of maintenance fee, plus some additional fees for the website design.

I own a professional design studio myself. If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact me:

Hope this helps ;)

If you want to do all the work, and all the design, and all the HTML/JavaScript/CSS coding yourself - it is free.

If you want someone else to do the work, then it depends on what kind of work you want them to do, how big the site is to be, and how much information, and types of information, they have to deal with. You could run a bill up into the 5 digit range very easily.

It compares to how much does it cost to have a T.V. commercial made.

Of course, you still have to worry about where and how to host the website once it is built. For that you can get it on-line for about $10 initial costs (registering the domain name) and as little as $4/month for the hosting (assuming you want a site without someone else's adds on it). If you are willing to have other adds on your site, you could even find free hosting. (That could have serious implications for your business and it's image with your customers.)
