Two of the best books I have ever read are "American Tabloid" and "The Cold Six Thousand" by James Ellroy (LA Confidential). The first book spans the years from 1958 to the day Kennedy was assassinated and put three fictional characters in the same places as real life players in the drama leading up to that day. The second book picks up exactly where the first leaves off andcarries us through Bobby Kennedy's murder in 1968, again, giving us three fictional characters (two of them survivors of the first book) getting caught up in the intrigue that leads up to that day.
Ellroy is working on his third book in the series that reportedly will give us a fictional explanantion as to what happened to Jimmy Hoff (seeing as how he's a major player in the first two books). Amazing stuff and a darn good read. Would make excellent films like LA Confidential was.

Book(trilogy) Eragon and Eldest *third has yet to be made* That would be an awesome movie, or three movies as it were, so long as they stuck to the book more than people normally do. Also Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley-would make an awesome movie.

I completely trust you; Avatar the final Airbender replaced into between the terrific series I extremely have ever watched...however the final Airbender replaced into heavily lacking whilst it got here to characters' personalities (in my opinion). green Lantern interior the comedian books and interior the instruct Justice League replaced into remarkable, even though, green Lantern the action picture looked as though it may lack the any awesomeness. The Hunchback of Notre Dame via Victor Hugo is a effective novel, and Disney did it justice (and greater!) via making it right into a great, significant, and symbolism-crammed action picture. via fact of this that's my popular Disney action picture. :) additionally, (i do no longer understand if this counts yet) Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella (the only with Brandy and Whitney Houston) replaced into an exceedingly effective remake of the unique Cinderella produced interior the 50s, i think of. one among my popular video clips ever :)

Starship Troopers. But hold it true to the book instead of the cheesy one they already did. If they followed the storyline of the book it would have been great!
