England, the un-fittest team in the World Cup?
Rather disappointing, as they're considered the best players that England has to offer.
They are certainly overpaid. Once their part in the World Cup is over, it's go back to blighty to earn even more money. Ah well, at least they had a nice holiday.

They are a bunch of overpaid idiots and would still be a bunch of overpaid idiots if they had won. I don't like football anyway but even I could see how awfully they played. This is part of the reason for the hooligans getting worse because even those who really did want to watch the football must have got so bored with it. I am glad it's over for England. We might be able to have a quiet drink as a family in the pub again.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. And in particular on the point that money has ruined Football. These days the team is a bunch of over-paid and under-skilled primadonnas with no motivation.
And why would they want to make an extra effort for their country just for another trophy, when their clubs are paying them millions every year anyway?
Have you ever wondered why it is that we pay a chap who kicks around an inflated pig's bladder for 90 minutes once or twice a week on average 100 times the salary that we pay a hospital doctor who saves lives every day?
If I had a say in it, I would also sack the team, and put one man on the black list for a very long time: Wayne Rooney. This idiot is not worth wearing the national colours. He never bothers to join in when the others sing the national anthem, and he has no team spirit at all. He is also emotionally instabile and immature, as we have seen in the match against Portugal. Committing an extreme foul against Carvalho one metre away from the Referee is the most stupid action I have seen in Football for a very long time.
This brainless potato-head, whose money-burning girlfriend is even more stupid than he is himself, needs to be brought back to a level of reality.

I totally agree with you on the money side of things.

However, I think that the match played against Portugal was the best they have played this tournament, and we should have deserved to win.

I dont know what Sven was thinking only having Rooney up front. He hasnt proved himself at all in the games he has played this World Cup, and to pin all our hopes on this clumsy boy was just plain stupid. We should have started with Crouch and Rooney up front. It seemed like some of the time the ball came down our side of the field, it was only Rooney down there, with no help from anyone. And speaking of Rooney, he acted like a complete idiot squaring up to the Portuguese players, he needs to sort out his attitude!

I think we would have scored eventually, it was only a matter of time with all the chances we had.

I think that to decide the winners of a football match over Penalties is not the way to go. Penalties is really just a game of luck. And we were unlucky!

Come on England, 2010 - We're gonna do it!! (Shame this might be Beckham's last World Cup)

I agree with Rhys up there, they are all overpaid idiots however badly or well they play. The football ruined the enjoyment of a lot of other things for those who don't like football and, seeing as it was such a poor performance(how England got so far, I don't know), surely it has also ruined any entertainment the fans would have got from it as well so basically, it was a complete waste of time.

I only start watching when it comes to penalty shootouts.

I have been watching England make a mess of them for twenty years.

What's that fallacy about learning form previous mistakes?

How can one compete in penalty shootouts with no forwards in the team?

How can overpaid footballers not manage to find the goal posts?

Even Sunday League players manage that occasionally!

The team did not deserve to win.

I think Ronaldo had better find himself another job, I personnally do not want to see him playing in the premiership ever again.

We may have had a chance to win the game, there was no way portugal were ever going to score, if we had 11 men until the end.

But we never had the rub of the luck, it all went to Portugal. Remember, nobody beat us during open play in this World Cup.

I'm England till I die!

I don't really wanna talk about it! but since u asked, I'm really upset with England's performance in the whole tournament. i feel for Lampard he has soooo many chances but didn't manage to score i hope he carrys on like this next session! I don't think they will get a warm reception as they have played like a bunch of over rated girls!

I kind of agree on the money thing, but I wanted Portugal to win [Ricardo the goal keeper was crazy btw, blocking those penalty kicks] it's just everyone tries to be famous now instead of playing their hearts out the right way.

england went as far in the competion as both brazil and argentina. there is no shame in leaving the world cup at the same point as such obviously great teams.

any team which wins on penalties wins more on luck than skill - but somebody had to be lucky, portugal was as deserving as england was.

mediocrity deplores skill - especially the subtler skill of teams such as england or germany. there will be people who badmouth england's performance in this tournament - but not people anyone need take seriously.
