The nations which fostered the Industrial Revolution were predominantly white. Once technical mastery of the elements which create and control wealth came in the form of machines, it was only a matter of time before the people who had attained it outstripped, and overran, those who did not. Food production, education, communication, transportation, war...people who originate from countries outside the Industrial Revolution "zone" are still trying to close that gap. That is a simplistic view, as the racial inequities we see today have many other factors, but it's still true.

Actually, this isn't true. There may be more rich people in the USA that are white ( I actually don't know if that's still true or not), but there are plenty of rich people who are Black, Hispanic, or Asian. The problem is that the rich people who are not white and the poor white people never make the news. I think that part of the reason for that is the liberal agenda to foster this image.

Now, it is true that there are a large number of Black people that are poor, as well as Hispanic people, and Native American people. It used to be that there was prejudice in hiring so that people who weren't white couldn't get good jobs. Thank God that is no longer true.

I think that those people that work hard in school, study at home after school, and get as good an education as they can will do well. Of course, other things are needed too. A person needs to learn how to speak and write good English. There are skills of how to get and keep jobs. A person needs to wait and get married before they have children. A man needs to wait and not get married until he makes enough money to support a wife and children. I know that wives often need to work also but the principle is still valid. And of course, people need to choose their mates carefully and then stay married. Single parents are the biggest cause of poverty.

Now, I know these may seem to be old fashioned values, but they work! People who do the things I've suggested, do well in life, those who don't - don't! Whatever the problems of the past, the cause of poverty today is lack of the values that cause success, not the color of a persons skin.

Its called institutional racism friend, its a disease which plagues most societies. However, its not always race, it can be your Class, Gender, Sex or Religion. Its a horrendous problem in our societies, and one which denying it is useless.

I can't believe you could be so Racist! Why has no one else picked this up? "da man gonna keep ya from it", if that isnt a piss-take of black culture, i dont know what is.
What your talkign about also is Meritocracy, people getting jobs because of Skills. Many sociologists, experts in this area, have debunked the idea. Proportionally, Ethnic minorities in many western countries do earn less then their caucasian neighbours. Racism is still a problem in our societies, even *shock, horror* America.

It seems like one group has all of the best, but that's just a fallacy. It's too bad that the media doesn't focus on people of color who have made it or were born into elite families.Have you not heard of Lena Horne? Before she became a famous singer, her family was known as achievers.Among New York's black elite there's entrepreneur Franklin Thomas, magazine founder, editor, board member Earl Graves,New York Supreme Court Justices (retired) Thomas Pickens,Herbert Evans,Edward Dudley, author and script writer Susan Fales-Hill,author Gail Lumet Buckley...
It's a matter of education, parental involvement, personal responsibility and drive.Parents need to be involved in their children's education;they should be aware of what state standards are,and standards of leading colleges are.Students need to work at getting excellent grades and not to be so caught up with being cool;today's role models of gangster rappers are not doing young people any good.Too many lower middle class and poor people of color think that talking substandard English, failing school, breaking laws, being drug addicts, being under achievers is acceptable,"cool," failing to realize that their lack of standards, education, drive,
stereotypes all people of color, making it difficult to get the better jobs unless they were born into that privileged world .

Gee, I'm white and I only WISH I had a lot of money and a better job! Don't assume that all whites have it made in the shade!

Because most white people are selfish, and a lot of them come from families who way down the line actually worked for what they have but the rest were born into it and take advantage of it.

A lot of white people are poor and have crappy jobs (or no job at all). My dad came from a dirt-poor family and had to bust his butt to get out of poverty. A bunch of his siblings are still really poor, uneducated, and either have crappy jobs (janitor, unskilled labor), or are on welfare.

This question is too general and makes too many assumptions. Sorry.

people of any race that have good jobs and money get them because we work hard and expect to get what we want. we haven't been brainwashed with "da man gonna keep ya from it" crap. it is a blessing. if you doubt your abilities, others will too. if you make race a factor, others will too. if you ignore all that crap and do the best you can do and get along with people, you will be rewarded for your efforts. people tend to get what they go after with their hearts.

coz they manipulated the other races long ago, they started things with our help but they benefited themselves than us, they had access to better education long b4 other races, good hospitals, better chance and good job oppoturnities, than other races, so other we had to fight for our place in the society while them got it free, so what happens now, they are holding all key positions, and most of them are racist so they will employ one of their own.
