Definitely satirical. That's why I watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report-it's 'news' with a satirical twist that looks at horrible and serious issues in a comical way so that you can just look at it differently it instead of pulling your hair out-or maybe you're laughing at it WHILE you're pulling your hair out. It's acknowledging all of the b.s. in a different way. I also think people get it more this way than if you're just lecturing at them-they can see first hand just how stupid something really is.

The first one sounds like a more interesting read.

But, personally, I think stereotypes are overly wronged. I disagree with the statement of stereotypes as "ignorance." Or at least as total ignorance. Ignorance, by definition means unaware or uniformed, a lack of knowledge. Stereotypes exist for a reason; some are inaccurate, some are not, but all are proof of an awareness or information.
Stereotypes, to me, are more of proof of unreliable sources of information than a lack thereof. Those that believe in the stereotypical portrayals are really only guilty of laziness, apathy, of a lack of ability to find out more about the subject or subjects on their own.
Stereotypes, racial or otherwise, are rarely, if ever, formed independent of some form of knowledge, albeit usually innacurate.
Oh, and they can be funny, too, if a person isn't too uptight about it.

I would like to read the book that showed reversed stereotypes. It would be a work of enormous social weight, considering it would show that society would still function, and would probably prove to the world that stereotypes are ludicrous in a satirical way. Even though the novel wouldn't necessarily be a satire in it's self, the idea of flipping stereotypes is, to one extent or another.

I personally would prefer to hear the satire, because I love humor (especially of a satirical nature). Plus, I don't stereotype people so the message would just be a reinforcement of my own beliefs and understanding about humans and their nature.

However, I think there are plenty of people out there who desperately need to hear the latter...a straight dope talk so there's no ambiguity about the message.

I'd rather gnaw my own leg off and beat myself to death with it than sit through either of those lectures. Oops, sorry, I misread. I thought you were say to post anything. I think you meant not to.

Okay, then, I'll take the first one. It would be like watching All in the Family.

We don't need another Archy Bunker.

I probably would go with the second, though most should go with the 1st. They can't even get it now!! They still use them daily!!

Anti-stereotypes......literature on steryotypes seems cliche, it has no power to affect people anymore...anti-stereotypes would impact more.
