I would say some white or black tetras, danios,rainbow fish. Some kind of non-agressive fish that swims high in the tank and moves back and forth in the tank. They are nicknamed "dither" fish cause they swim about high in the water colom. The fish like knifefish and elephant nose stay out more because they feel safe with the other fish dithering around above them. Shows there are no predators near by.

Go to a pet store and either look at the tank with those fish in them, and see what other fish are in with them, or just ask one of the employees.
Don't go to Petsmart or Petco, those people are idiots.

How about Tiger barbs, Zebra danios and Lion head goldfish ? You will have a zoo in an aquarium :-)
