People are very quick to become enraged over abhu graib and guantanmo bay and gitmo, etc., and to demand war crime trials against our soldiers, yet, no out cry was given or is still being heard over the cutting of Daniel Pearl's throat on videotape, or the beheading of Nick Berg, that BTW took three strikes with a machete, nor the civilians that were killed on 9/11! I lost a very good friend that day who was on her way home to her children when her plane crashed into the towers and she lost her life. Where is the outcry for these people? Why do we ignore these things?

You said it very well and made it very clear about how people feel sorry for barbaric Islamic Fascists and how they are treated, yet nothing about Americans being beheaded by these animals. It makes me sick too. As Americans, we all should still be outraged over what these fanatics done to our people. I know I still am. I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend and you can rest assured that I will never forget. Thank you for telling it like it is, and keep doing it. God Bless You.

Not all of us do. The outrage is driven by the media that will do whatever they can to make Bush or the military look bad. If I were a prisoner and had the choice of getting stripped and laughed at by a female or having my head brutally hacked off, at least I would live through the humiliation. There is a huge outcry and there was back then, problem is we don't have the voice except in forums like this. People tend to forget who started all of this, remember: Lockerbee Scotland, Marine barracks in Lebannon, the embassies in Africa, the wheelchair bound man thrown overboard on a highjacked cruise ship, the attack on the USS Cole, the World Trade Center garage bombing, school children splattered by insane bombers, babies and children dead in their dead mother's arms in the streets of a Kurdish village from poison gas. The outcry is here! To hell with anti-war liberals, I won't be happy until the last cowardly terrorist has had his rag-covered head blown off!

I wouldn't say these horrible events have been ignored. The tragedy of 9/11 is still being mourned and discussed. When Daniel Pearl was murdered it was very much discussed too. I think that ppl have reacted so strongly to the war crimes committed by our soldiers is because Americans are not supposed to act like our enemies. For me personally, I am on "bad news over load" - the sad events that are going on in the world today seem so insurmountable that ppl like me just don't want to see anymore. I know what's going on, but I don't know every detail, every fact. It's just so painfull and scary- and I feel that there is little I can do to change things. I am just living my life and hoping for the best.

I'm speaking for myself when I say that I am upset over all of the events that you have listed. I think people are upset over the soldiers' actions for several reasons: 1) Soldiers are supposed to be fighting for freedom and justice, and therefore should behave as such, and especially 2) Those acts of violence, were sparked by rage and anger for 9/11, Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg, etc., and will spark further acts of violence against the US, which will in turn spark further violence. Something else is that it showed what this war, and war in general, can do to the most decent of men and women.

It is the American military that is outraged over the troops behavior.
It is the Army that is bringing charges, not the media.

Who is the Commander in Chief of the military? George Bush.

(AP) BUSH VOWS PUNISHMENT
President George W Bush has vowed to punish any US marine guilty of shooting Iraqi civilians at Haditha.

But Iraqis, including the new prime minister, complain that US troops have killed elsewhere with impunity.

"There is a thorough investigation going on. If ... laws were broken there will be punishment," Mr Bush said in Washington.

Excuse me, but my observations have been just the opposite. The main stream media plays down the atrocities committed by our government policy (note I didn't say our soldiers, but the policy of our govt.) And 9/11 has nothing to do with what's going on in Iraq- I think by now that's been shown.

Get on Amnesty International's website and get the unbiased truth, then tell me how wonderful our countries leaders are. We can't even abide by the Geneva convention. Our country supports torture, killing of innocent civilians, training for murderers and arms for 3rd world armies. George Bush is the worst terrorist there is, because he denies what he's doing.

“We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing that we know about living.” -General Omar Bradley

I think its because people love the underdog. Our culture and media portray rising up against superior might as noble. Heck, the U.S. was formed this way, never mind the way movies and TV show it, (Rocky, Star Wars, Jaws, Braveheart, Gladiator, et cetera, ad nauseum.)

The U.S., however, is no longer an underdog. And although people aren't rooting for the terrorists, they do scrutinize every move made by the military and are quick to point out every misstep.
The media and network news reporting has as much to blame as anyone. The litigious nature of our society seems to thrive on finger-pointing and the demands for compensation.
The days of an eye for an eye are long gone, we are caught up in our own PR and expect our actions to be above reproach, and disgusted when we do things other, ("inferior") countries would do.

It's because people are entirely too ready to forget things that happened but a few months or years ago in order to bicker over something else. All of these things are horrible acts of hatred, and should never be forgotten. I believe that it is the job of the media to not let these things fall from our consciousness.

I am terribly sorry for the loss of your friend, and the immense loss I'm sure that her children felt. Thank you for bringing this up, we could all do with a bit of reminding.

Furthermore, where is the outcry for the soldiers that were recently slaughtered and the Iraqi's that were killed by terrorists?

The only logical answer seems to be the war is politicized by Libs. They are all about hurting Bush, and terrorists killing do not hurt him. Only things they can pin on America hurt him so that is the route they so often take. Unfortunately, it hurts ALL of America, including themselves.

Because the anti-americans at the UN and europe want to put US in the bad light. They want their citizens to be brain-washed and want them to view US as an evil country.

Also it is the liberals who hate Bush and want to do anything to make him fail. I hope this isn't true for both sides. I hope if a dem is elected in office in 2008 that the Republicans don't do the same. It would only make us look worse and loose our credibility.
