Incredible but imbalanced social advancement ! Prosperity also includes wealth but not just that. It is a wealthy nation, and has to upgrade its prosperity levels with substantial growth in fine arts.

I believe the main problem is that we are polarized. Everyone has their own seperate corner and they stay there. People are not forced to meet in the middle and talk things out. If you hate Bush, you can find 10 million blogs and read stuff from others who hate Bush. If you hate gays, who can find any number of websites that talk about that. Red Stater and want some news, turn to the Fox News Channel and on and on. Technology is partially at fault for this. It supports this division.

By far, the apathy of this nation as a whole. Absolute disregard for the MAJOR problems with the deficit, the war, inflation and corruption in politics. None of those problems can be overcome until the people recognize them.
We are so caught up in our own little lives that we don't even notice the problems. Absolute apathy, indifference and blatant disregard.

George W. Bush, enough said. That, and a lack of understanding and acceptance of others. Why is it that people can't accept that other people might believe different things than them and that's okay? How does everyone KNOW they are right? I know that I could quite possibly be wrong about a lot of things, and that's okay. So could everyone else.

Our constitutional rights are being taken away one by one and people are too sick (lack of medical insurance), too tired (working just to make ends meet) or distressed (lack of mental health care) to notice.
